Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
i'm doing fine with it, it's Patrick P. Ramsey himself i'm worried about!

Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
Someone has been playing some Madden 06. Anyway to get back to the original question of this thread, my prediction of Ramsey's performance tomorrow night is that he plays the full 1st quarter and if he leads the team to some points, he makes an exit before the 2nd quarter begins. Otherwise he plays a full half and gives Gibbs more grey hair. I don't care about stats other than points and turnovers. They are all that really matter anyway

Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
How Ramsey will do is entirely dependent upon the O-Line. The more he is able to stay upright, the more often he will feel comfortable standing still in the pocket. Last season, 22 out of his 23 sacks came right up the middle. This year the team has brought in Rabach to play center and have been working extensively with Dockery to improve his technique. And if I recall, Randy Thomas was injured for part of last season. There is the key to Ramsey's future as QB in Washington. If those three guys hold their assignments, I think Ramsey has a chance to show what he can do--and I think he can give us the long ball. If those three fail, no QB will last for long in Washington until they get the area between the tackles shored up. Friday, with no sacks, I think Ramsey gets two drives into the end zone and at least one more close.

Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
he'll play about a half this time right? or is that the 3rd game? well if he does play for a half I am expecting a little bit more of the playbook at their disposal and hoppefully Ramsey with less patting of the ball resulting in 100-175 yards and 2-3 scoring drives. If he plays for only a quarter, 75-115 yards and one or 2 scoring drives.

Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
it's true, Ramsey must be the most shell shocked QB in the league. he's got years of bad habits to break, most of which aren't his fault.

Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
I predict Ramsey will have at least one TD drive with either Nemo or Betts punching it in for the score. Patrick will get this drive after a quarter of play. Brunell will lead two scoring drives, a TD drive and a field goal drive. Sean Taylor will make a huge play that ultimately decides the game. Campbell will continue to play well, but will make two rookie mistakes.

Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
Well it almost seems unanimous (spelling?) most of us, including me, expect at least a TD drive from Ramsey, keyword is expect, not "want", because for the most part we all faith in his abilities ... and want him to succeed.
BUT if he has the same performance as last week, no worse, but no better, and by that I mean statistically and visually with his decision making, pocket presence, and composure - Should we start to worry ? Or does he get a mulligan??? I'm on the fence with that ...

Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
I think that we will see a lot of the same thing as last week. Gibbs will just call some standard plays and ask the offense to execute them. In a real game he looks for mismatches and trys to exploit them. It seems that Ramsey is better in situation 2. Maybe it's confidence, but I think that we will see Ramsey really grow into the role as each game passes.
Prediction: Ramsey has at least 2 good drives that result in points scored (TD or FG).

Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
I'm expecting Ramsey, to again, play for most of the first half. That is, unless he looks like Joe Montana in the first quarter. I think Gibbs will start Ramsey in the regular season no matter what, but I'm sure Gibbs wants to see as much as Ramsey in the preseason as possible.
I really hope Ramsey burns 'em up tomorrow night...I want to see Campbell play some more.

Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
It seems like some of us will never be convinced that Ramsey is capable. I find it interesting that when guys like McNabb or even the infallable, beloved Tom Brady throws an int. on their first series of the game, it's more acceptable. But oh, if Ramsey throws one he needs to "settle down," he's not "comfortable in the pocket". Can he improve on some of his mechanics, sure!! Is he a good starting NFL quarterback capable of leading the Skins to 11-5 this year - absolutely!

Re: Preseason Game 2 Ramsey Predictions
i feel it is just a lack of confidence, not in himself, in his protection. How can you blaim him, he is the toughest QB to go in play after play getting smacked, and only stopping when it was impossible to go on. He is still afraid of D-linemen in my opinion. But PR after looking at replays of the last game and the amzing job the Dirtbags did he now knows that he is the only untouchable man out there because of that line. If he shows more confidence in that line that is deserving of his confidence there will be no stopping him.
We will see tommorow but if he LOOKS like he did last week we will be hearing what we heard this week x10 i have no number predictions because that is overrated in the preseason but i do see him getting 4-5 first downs on a TD drive and that would make my week. If he doesn't i don't care if we keep his ass in there till after the game is over until he does. With that line i am not to worried about injuries so if Gibbs does keep him in as long as last wek i will be ok, but i hope for no injuries on both teams, knock knock knock |
