I have always had great respect for Gibbs, but his moves haven't panned out so well. Some of it is bad luck, too, in Sean Taylor. Also, who would have thought that Brunell would have played so terrible last year. I didn't understand the signing at the time though as I thought Patrick Ramsey is starting material and was a lot cheaper.

I'm not sure I agree with your charicterization of Gibbs's moves. Brunell was a mistake, but Taylor played 15 games and was an impact player. He made some off-field mistakes (certainly his contract mumblings, and the allegations of criminal misconduct), but since he hasn't been convicted, and will likely miss no mandatory appearances, that shouldn't be used to hang him.
Some of the other moves he made were signing Marcus Washington (you may remebeere him from the Pro Bowl), starting Antonio Pierce (and not making an ill-advised trade for a proven vet), orchestrating the Portis trade, bringing hot coordinating commodity Gregg Williams on-board, drafting Chris Cooley, and so on. The good outweighs the bad, and that is really all you can hope for in this league.
