I would like to see them get more multiple with that sub package. What they do a lot of is they will overload one side with an SS pressure to force the offense to adjust their protection/go hot with the football. But the fact that we pretty much have to wait for a passing down to use that wrinkle suggests that we're missing opportunities to get our best personnel on the field in earlier downs. Ever since the first six games Haslett was coordinator, we haven't seen much interior pass rush. Sure, Fletcher or McIntosh will come with delayed A-gap pressure a lot, but we live and die with straight four man rushes and defensive overloads. I feel like if we were more multiple, we could acquire more useful personnel that creates favorable match-ups for our rushers. That's the opportunity we are missing on defense right now. In our sub packages, we should be attacking the weak links of the opponent's pass protection. Instead, we're trying to isolate the tackles on the edge, and/or get a free rusher. Nothing wrong with that, just missing opportunities to be even better.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
What's the knock on our O-line anyway? They got pushed around some but we aren't all that bad. The two young guys Hurt and Smith played really well. I was thinking, why go out and pay millions for guys in free agency when we can just insert Smith at RT? (even though Jamaal Brown isn't all that bad) and maybe Hurt at LG or RG? Then we can add a couple of cheap veterans through FA and add more depth through the draft. Just my opinion.

Already mentioned in the NFL FA thread but since it's Redskin related, Donte Stallworth has signed with the Pats.
Also, Laron Landry is joining the Jets

Glad it's not Philly just in case he decides to be healthy.

Anyhow, basically it goes that in 2011 we gave up 5 less sacks then we did in 2010. Now 5 sacks might not seem like that great a drop but when you consider that we lost Kory L for the season, Trent Williams for 6 games, Tim Hightower for the season (aka our top pass protection back), and Jammal Brown for 4 games well safe to say a 5 sack drop looks all the more impressive. The fact of the matter is we might not necessarily need starters but rather we need to focus on finding better backups or at least focus more on improving the ones we have. *Shamless plug for Florida State tackle Andrew Datko

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
10 of them in one game. Normally, 4 sacks is indicative of a bad sack day, so let's just say 6-8 of them were Beck's fault.
