from the fact that he is a typical big name free agent that the skins feel like is going to be the missing piece, when in reality he would never play up to his contract if he gave him one.

Bow out of free agency.

And per PFT, Skins must absorb at least half of 36 mil cap hit this year.
I say sign royal, cut moss, resign hightower and you have a deal

So based on that? Which really in that sense means we shouldn't sign anyone worth a damn. Jackson, Colston, Carr, Nicks, Garcon, Finnegan, Grubbs. By your logic we should stay away from all of them.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Holdouts, suspensions, contract whining, criminal behavior, typical WR ego...

Jackson is a head case who just wants to get paid, Colston had two major knee surgeries, Nicks is a good guard but he might go back and even then isn't better than Evans and he wants to get paid more than him, Finnegan has had one pro bowl year but he is famous for fighting people and he gets beat, Carr is a good corner but market will make him super overpaid, Grubbs is a good guard but how much is he worth?

Winston is the one guy I do like from his highlights and what i've seen. I would go after him for the right price. I would sign young players than can add depth.

Also see Adam Archuleta, Bruce Smith, Albert Haynesworth, Randel El, Lloyd.
We don't have a great track record with free agents.

Great teams stay away from the huge names and build through the draft, see Giants, Packers, Steelers, Patriots, Ravens. All the best players for those teams were drafted. But the new management for the redskins seems to understand that, which means we might have a bright future if Snyder doesn't interfere

That was A DIFFERENT FRONT OFFICE, DIFFERENT GM, AND A DIFFERENT TEAM!!!

Why do people keep acting like freaking Vinny is still running the show here.

Nice. Completely forgot about Hightower and a younger Royal is better than the Moss we have now.

I agree thats why I said we have new management, but Snyder is still there. And a deal to get Jackson or someone like that would be something Vinny would do. They did make a deal to bring an aging McNabb to come play quarterback so its not like they are a perfect team as of now. But we seem to be using to the draft instead of free agency which is why I said I think we have a bright future with this management.

No, 28 bitter/jealous/crybaby NFL owners and their puppet commissioner just cost us $36 mil.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker

signing second tier receivers (Royal, Morgan, Jacoby Jones, etc) doesnt do a whole lot to improve this team. Need a threat, play making WR for impact. we already have compliments at WR, we need a guy that a defensive cordinator has to game plan for.

I saw a report that without the restructures we'd be 39mil over the cap. Even being penalized for doing nothing wrong legally, we are in better shape.

Snyder hasn't done squat since MS and BA have been here. I will give you the McNabb situation, and if you look back at my comments I have been one of the biggest critics of the McNabb fiasco. But comparing what our FO has done (minus McNabb) to everything the Vinny Cerrato-led Redskins did is just ignorant IMO. I will admit that this FO needs to start producing wins to validate what appears to be good moves, but they are not the same moves from before. Shoot, Vinny Cerrato would have given up two #1s and a 2nd rounder to move up and take Justin Blackmon or Trent Richardson.
