One thing I will say though about last years team, is while we may say that bad kicks cost us a few games we also have to remember that we won two by knocking out the opposing teams QB. Had Vick not been hurt in game 1 and Young with the Titans we were likely looking at another two losses. Either way it's kind of impressive to come away with 6 wins despite having the 31st ranked defense, 30th in rushing, and a QB with a sub 80 rating. The defense this year should finish no worse then 17th and now come in with top 10 potential with all the new parts coming in. The running game can go either way finishing in the 20's or just as easily in the top 10.

Little doubt though that the formula is set. Run the ball, play tough defense, and if Beck develops great, if not use the passing game when you can.

Actually, the 1st Eagles game was even closer. If Avant had made that catch, Eagles win.

Can we just play our younger players, lose out, and get Andrew Luck. He's too good to pass up, and screams the next john elway/peyton manning. Oh yeah, did I mention he's really fast too.

Luck fans - you guys really need to give up on the hope of drafting Luck next year.. Unless our #1 and #2 QBs get injured early in season, there's no way we will have the worst record in NFL next season, not with Shanny in the regime.

Put it this way. The Cardinals were using Derrick Anderson, Max Hall, and John Skelton. They were 31st in passing, 30th in rushing, 23rd in Pass Defense, 30th in rush defense. They had virtually no offensive line. And the highest they got was the 5th pick.

Honestly though, this "lose out" stuff is getting annoying, and we arent even guaranteed to play the 2011 season yet. I can only imagine how annoying it's going to be once the season starts.

And Luck could also go back to Stanford for another season (Redshirt Junior in 2011). So tanking this season and getting the first pick doesn't guarantee that you end up with Luck. He comes from a rich family so money is only so important to him.

We got Ovechkin, Strasburgh, and Wall. The DC area is out of number 1 pick karma.

Dirtbag said it perfectly, Arizona was one of the worst team (worse offense than ours) and yet they picked at 5th.. God forbid, if we actually are the worst team next year - it still is very unlikely for us to be at #1 spot.

But Rogers normally chokes in big moments like that. It's not a matter of "if", it's matter of "won't" with Rogers. Avant only started choking last year.
