Well, Brunell has won some NFL playoff games, he's seen a lot of defenses, and he's won a number of regular season games. He hasn't won a SB or a conference championship, but he's won in the NFL for a long time. That's not chopped liver. I think Ramsey is the QB of the future, but my bet is the future isn't for a season or so. Playing for Spurrier is like playing in college, except you get hit by NFL linemen. We need to see how Ramsey plays in Gibbs offense. I'm sure he'll do great, but my guess is the transition will be easier for Brunell becuase of his experience.

I actually think both QBs are quite similar in this respect: They're hard working, humble good guys, and together, they'll make up the best one-two QB duo in the league. Is there a better one-two? It's a great luxury, and it will be an incredible asset, especially late in the year. Remember, neither QB finished the year last season. We need both.

We do need both. In the NFL as physical as it is a QB is one hit away from being injured. I like Ramsey, but if Brunell does better in camp he should be the man and vice versa. I think Ramsey will learn a lot from Brunell these next couple of years.

When healthy (major disclaimer I know) Brunell is probably a top 10 QB in the NFL.. I think Ramsey will eventually gain that same status, but for 2004, Brunell will probably be the way to go. The guy doesn't make mistakes with the football and can make plays with his feet when he needs to. He's not going to be Vick like and break of a 60 yard run, but if it's 3 and 7 and the pocket breaks down he can get the yards to keep the drive alive..

I just hope Ramsey doesn't get too pissed if they ask him to sit. I know he's humble, that's why I like him, but when you get knocked on your ass every other play and then lose your job to a quarterback on the downside of his career (35 is the downside, screw Gannon)... I wouldn't blame the guy for getting upset.

Brunnel was a really great mobile QB. He seems to have lost a step though. He'll still role out and make a play, but dont expect any heroics from him at this point in his carer. Itll definitly be more conservative running.

I agree. Gibbs said its a open competition and thats all I ask. I just hope it really is that way.

What is comes down to is that Gibbs has two great QB's. And since he likes to prove that he can win a Super Bowl with any QB, hes going to win one with Brunell this year and then have Ramsey win the next one. I wonder if Gibbs would then keep Ramsey or trade him, it would be unheard of for him to win two super bowls with one QB. But I guess times change, no one would complain.
