You just don't understand what it means to "keep it real".

Yeah, Billick and Thom were really bad all game. I think it's like you said, they just didn't care. They could've done better than those two. They even said after D.Hall got MVP that he was a replacement, when he was actually voted in in the first place.

And what's all this talk about people hating on D.Hall?

Reality is, he's not a shutdown CB. He's a playmaker. Certain players' attributes have thier tradeoffs.

Sure he's a playmaker, but he's also a huge liability as well. Think Allen Iverson. AI lead the league in steals (and scoring) on numerous occasions, yet failed to make a single NBA All-Defensive first or second team his entire career. You got to ask yourself why is that? How can a man lead the league in steals, yet not even get a whiff of the all-defense team. I tell you why, it's because he was a gambler. He left his man on many occasions and played the passing lanes. In the end, it look good on paper, but it cost his team games and created a huge liability on the defensive end.

I equate that with D-Hall. The guy is a play maker, but consistency is where it's at in the league, not ESPN highlights. You can't get 4 INTs in one game, and turn around and let some scrub WR beat you on a deep route to win the game because you aren't disciplined enough to play the position.

Any Redskin fans talking about "younger fans" and other bull shit. Listen, I'm damn near 40 years old and I've seen the Skins in their glory years so it has nothing to do with the crap this other guy was saying a few posts back. It's called "being a realist". I can cheer on my favorite team without being a clueless homer that believes that their players are more valuable or have no flaws.

I'd rather think Brett Farve. leads the league in INT's yet...

Well, I guess that was directed at me. Likewise, I think it is just as equally unrealistic and clueless to down those who happen to applaud the players on our team who receive positive accolades. I mean, nobody here is saying D. Hall is the greatest CB to ever play the game, I don't think that at all, but I'm proud he was voted into the Pro Bowl and that he was the MVP. I mean, I here a lot of negativity from these fan sites every day, and a lot of it is just plain out belly-aching. You have people who say that D. Hall didn't deserve to play in the Pro Bowl, then when he plays well and receives honors at the game, then the same people say that the Pro Bowl is just a joke anyways. I mean, regardless what you think about the player, can't the fans be happy for them when they do something right?

I equate football to politics. While the majority will be happy you will never be able to appease a certain minority no matter what you do or say.

You spout that "3 TIME PRO-BOWLER" like it means something. The end of his time in Atlanta and up the Skins tenure, he was one of the worst rated CBs in the game in terms of passes allowed (from the stats i've seen in articles). If you dont think his play hasn't cost us games, I suggest you review some of the games this year. Wasn't it the week after he shot his mouth off in the media about covering the best guy on the team, that he got his ass burned by some no named WR from the Rams? Yeah, that would be correct. Let's not even talk about that fiasco the year prior where he allowed JAKE DELHOLMME to drag his ass 7 yards for a first down to put the game away.

BUT BUT BUT HE'S A PRO BOWLER....lol

Kudos to him for having a good game in the Pro-Bowl. A game where they half ass it and most of the people elected don't even bother showing up. When they make the Pro-Bowl mean something (like giving the NFC/AFC home field advantage in Superbowl) then let me know.

First off, I've never downed anybody who's applauding any of the SKins selection to the Pro-Bowl. It's really a personal choice if you think the guy deserves it or not. I've always thought the guy could be the best CB this game has seen, but he simply doesn't have the discipline to play the position like he should. Look at Nnamdi Asomugha. The guy hardly gets any Ints (unlike D. Hall), but yet he's 10 times the better CB than D. Hall. Why? Because simply QBs won't even throw in his direction nor does he give up TDs. It's funny that D. Hall was paired with this guy and who was the individual that continually got burnt to a point they let him go after 8 games (after giving up a 2nd rounder and tons of cash).

BUT BUT I SAW HIM ON ESPN MAKING A PLAY!!! HE'S GOT TO BE GOOOD!!! No, not really. Perception is everything. Reality is generally something totally different.

I'm not a D. Hall hater, I just see D. Hall for what he is. A play maker who's also unreliable and inconsistent. Truth be told, Carlos Rogers plays the CB position better than D. Hall in terms of coverage. Too bad that kid has hands of stone or he'd be starting at CB in the pro-bowl OVER D. Hall.

Wasn't he also the guy responsible for giving us the win against the Cowboys? Yeah, that would be correct.

Well I guess if QB's didn't throw passes D. Halls way, he wouldn't give up TD's. either.

Right perception is what you are demonstrating. Reality is D. Hall is "one of" the best CB's in the league. And a Pro Bowl MVP. Who leads the league in INT's and tackles among CB's.

Quote:

But unfortunatly for Rogers, Hall is the better all around CB. Tipped balls don't change games momentum or turn into TD's as much as INT's do. Rogers is not even close to the CB Hall is. If he was then Rogers would be 2011 Pro Bowl MVP. Or at least be in the Pro Bowl. Right?

i liken him to a home run hitter in baseball. sure, he gets burnt on occasion. but then he makes a play or 2 to win a game. this league is all about play makers. if Carlos Rogers had this ability, he would be a top 3 corner

I'm seeing a lot of double speak. You're saying your not downing those who appreciate Redskins making the Pro Bowl, but you're also saying they're homers and unrealistic. Then you down the Pro Bowl game itself and then question whether or not a certain player deserves to play in it or not. Then you say you don't dislike the guy, but you continue putting the guy down as if he's dirt. Please, at least be consistent.

Barry Sanders was not consistent with his running. He would get bottled up for 5 and 6 yards losses and then he might break a long one on the next down. DeAngelo Hall is similar (and NO I don't believe DeAngelo Hall is as good as Barry Sanders before you start that argument) in that he might get burned on a pass or two, but he might intercept the next one and take it to the house. He's a gambler, sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't, but he's not trash.
