Listening to Donovan relate to the media is like pouring water over a duck's back. He's a savvy enough communicator that he'll always know how to deliver. He could despise Shanahan and you'd never know, that's one of the characteristics I admire in him.

Now there's a plan that most certainly will not fail.

So tired of King, Tim Hassleback, Mort and everyone else that is starting to pile on McNabb. Who are their sources? I swear some of these guys make 80% up of the crap they say just to out do one another.

I do remember that half season where Rex was the no. 1 fantasy qb in the NFL... if he could translate that half season over to us, that'd be Collins-like.

Probably JLC who essentially guaranteed that Al would be gone at least 3 times this year. JLC should be fired for being a fraud. |

Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
How can we expect McNabb to succeed under the circumstances?
In Philly he read from short to long, here from long to short. WITH THIS OFFENSIVE LINE? Even when he has time to throw it, he never has space to step into the throw (even if Rabach isn't stepping on his foot!) The fact that they don't call many intermediate routes I consider an epic fail under the circumstances, especially on 2nd and long. I'm tired of seeing either the attempt to win the lottery (bomb) or the screen pass where the ball arrives at the same time as the unblocked defender. They've also asked him to change his throwing mechanics. My old violin teacher always told me that if you don't like the mechanics of the way someone plays, but they get good results out of it, you DON'T change it. Hopefully the Shanahans will let McNabb throw the ball his way. I wouldn't be surprised if the attempt to change his motion is part of the reason he is generating poorer results. |

Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
Being an avid fan for 50 yrs, the Skins have too many issues besides the play of McNabb. Year in and year out, new coaches come in, new offensive coordinators come in, offensive linemen are still at a premium, and same wide receivers that either dont run good patterns or seldom get open. No matter who comes in, it all starts at the O-line--period. If there is no protection, not even P Manning can be effective. Any time a whole new system is put in place, historically it takes at least half a season just to become familiar with it and how many coaches and systems have the Skins gone thru the last 10 yrs? Until mgmt can find good OFF linemen, be creative with an offensive system, find receivers that can get open, they will continue to be a bad team. In simple terms, why was it that former GM Bobby Beathard always found good talent and nobody since can do that? That is another biggy because the Skins must bring in knowledgeable football people that can find talent instead of spending Danny's millions and think they can make a team from high priced, underachievers. The entire organization since Snyder took over has been a disgrace.

You'll find that there are a lot of people here that will agree with your sentiments. I think we're on the right track, because I see Shanahan as a good offensive line talent evaluator, and Bruce Allen has connections to make things happen. I think the Trent Williams pick was indicative of this.

Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss
Who knows, look at McNabb through his career- when has he ever said the wrong thing?? He is overly PC and wont say what it is. Just like when they benched him in Philly for Kolb against Balto. and he watched and smiled as Kolb threw a pick 6 i think it was and stuck up the place. I also noticed when he wears his hat backwards all is well but forwards something is the bother. What a mess. Shanahan also wont be able to speak honest about his intentions.
Ohh, I wanted to add this link which if anyone saw during the game Kyle and McNabb not on the same page. D.C. Sports Bog - What was Kyle Shanahan saying on the sidelines? |

I noticed that during the game, wonder if he ran the wrong play, wrong formation, or what exactly.

Looks like he is saying "whose that inside". As most the commenters said, he doesn't look particularly upset.

Yeah probably nothing, in hindsight everyone is jumping over every little thing that went down that day.
