Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
I think they are trying to scrub every remnant of VC's decision making from the organization

There are a whole lot less good athletic 6' 5" to 6' 6" and 300+ pound people in the world than 5' 9" to 6' 4" athletic people. Statistically they are harder to find. Draft big athletic people over small unless it is someone incredibly special. Thomas and Kelly did not qualify in that 'someone incredibly' special in college. |

Thomas never impressed me as being a guy real serious about the game. There always seemed to be other things that were more important to him.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
I know AJ Green looks great in college but let's be honest, WRs are very shaky when it's comes to the draft. There have been so many Bust in the first round at WR..
Green could be the next Randy Moss or the next Malcolm Kelly..

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Ok, here's my crackpipe theory:
This is a gamble by Allen to see if NE picks up Thomas, he becomes an all star with Brady. NE doesn't trade for VJ, who the skins then go after, he joins the team in a week, like ACE said. Back to reality!!

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
WTF???? I can't believe that Roydell Williams and Galloway are better than Thomas. I simply can not believe that in a million years.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Only QBs are tougher to predict success at the top of the draft. For that reason, I hope that we use BOTH of our top picks to select linemen, and bolster our WR situation through a trade or free agency for a proven commodity.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Can't believe we did this when I first read it, but hell, what did he do this year for us that others can't do? Exactly! Nothing! Banks will do just fine on Kick Returns.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Davis is the only stud of the '08 class. Horton and Moore are decent, but that isn't saying much given what the team has accomplished in the past couple years.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
What we really need to do is reshuffle or totally gut our scouting team. These guys have been epic failures.

Re: Redskins release Devin Thomas
Miles Austin is a top 5 WR and If I'm not mistaken he wasn't drafted, or if he was it was really late.. T.O was late round, Hines ward Etc.
I would like AJ Green or Juilo Jones but it's not happening unless we finish 5-11
