Re: whos more overrated

I think they r all overrated to some extent compared to lbs in the HOF, but that doesn't mean they still aren't very good to great lbs. Not many speak ill of lewis cuz he is a hell of a lb and the face of one of the top 5 or so defenses of all time(especially considering what the ravens offense did or better yet didn't do that year), but he has the same problem as urlacher, take away productive big guys on the line in front of them and they aren't nearly as much of an impact on the game as they are made out to be. Lewis isn't even the best defensive player on his team, Ed Reed stole that spot 2 years ago and hammered it home this past season. Arrington's main weakness, like others have posted, is his tendancy to completely overrun a play or commit a bonehead penalty that extends drives that usually lead to points. But of the 3 Arrington has done the most with the least amount around him as well as the fact that this will be his first year in the league with the same defensive system in place for more than one season. I know I'm a bit biased towards Arrington with him being a Skin, but another edge he gets in my opinion is that he can also line up effectively at de while I've honestly never seen the other 2 be anything other than mlbs in the nfl (I know urlacher was a safety in college). All in all practically every player out there presently and from the past are/were to some extent over rated but that's to be expected with sports figures.

Re: whos more overrated

oh. how did he cut his career short. was it like a sack that injured him for the rest of the season, then he decided to retire, or was it a sack that ended his career? or if it wasn't a sack, how did he do it.

if u've never seen the clip u have to find it somewhere, it's one of the hardest hits I've ever seen anyone in football take (still nothing compared to that hit al michaels took). it wasn't a sack, but pretty damn close to it as aikman threw it away right before arrington, who'd closed the last 10 or so yards on him in what seemed like the blink of an eye, just blasted the ver living snot out of aikman.

Re: whos more overrated

if you could tell me how his career was ended that would be great. although, i don't mind hearing how he enjoys watching his career go down the drain.

Re: whos more overrated

he had back problems and that was his 4th concussion in 20 starts, so he was aging and piling up injuries at an amazing pace... he could have had a couple years left in him if not for that play.

I'm sure someone has a link to the clip or even have it programed in as a screen saver or something, which would actually be kinda kewl.

Re: whos more overrated

as far as some of the most overrated players goes, players like john lynch, mike alstott, champ, trotter, jake plummer & jake delhome should get more mention.
