Ditto. How many times did we see the ball even on short routes thrown behind the receivers? I'll admit he's safe with the ball, but being safe with the ball only means he didn't turn it over. Any QB who can throw the ball into the dirt and out of bounds would be considered safe with the ball.

He was an upgrade from Brunell. Atleast he could scramble and get the ball beyond 10 yrds once and a while. We have McNabb, who is supposed to be far and above better then JC. As long as we have upgraded and not made a lateral move like they tried to do last summer I'm happy.

Good points about Gradkowski, I didn't realize he was coming off surgery. I always thought it was good though in a poor mans Jeff Garcia manner. Not a great qb & doesn't make all the throws & reads well, but makes plays on the run & plays w/some fire. Will do the little things & make plays in unconventional ways.

Anyone know what we get if there is no draft in 2012? It doesn't necssarily have to be part of a new cba.

I imagine we don't get anything, but there is no way that a draft will not be part of the new cba. That would be incomprehensible to me.

Say what you want about Campbell, but remember that he got sacked 50 times last year. And most of those sacks were because Zorn didn't know anything about protection schemes. Also, remember that Campbell had two Offensive Coordinators last year and one of his coordinators was used to calling, "N37" or "B18". No other quarterback in the league has had to go through something like that. So, putting up 3600 yards passing and 20 touchdowns...................................yeah, those are average numbers, but putting up average numbers when you're getting sacked 50 times while hearing "B19" from your coordinator...........................Thats pretty impressive if you ask me. Letting him go was dumb. Letting him go for almost nothing in return was dumber. And trading for McNabb was the dumbest move this franchise has made since bringing in Deon Sanders.

But, you got to tip your cap to the Raider's front office on this one. They got a mobile gun slinger, who can learn a new system every year, do well with any offensive coordinator in the league, and can take hard hits! And it didn't cost them anything. What a move by the Raiders...........................

I'll give Campbell that - He is tough as nails. I think Campbell could've been a good QB if there was any type of continuity around him. It has to be very hard to basically start from scratch every year.

Best of luck to him in Oakland.

My biggest gripe? Another wasted jersey purchase.

I agree. I think one of the reasons we went for a 2012 pick was because we'll definitely have a new CBA by then. I'm holding out hope we don't have to give the Eagles that 3rd/4th for McNabb next year.

Re: Campbell A Raider

A 2012 pick is kinda far away.. We lose a great backup QB, and don't get anything in return for 2 years.. It wouldn't happen, but it's possible he flails in Oakland, gets released and we pick him up again - and still wouldn't have gotten the 2012 pick yet.

Also - is there a chance at all the 2011 draft won't happen? Those college players will have to get to the NFL at one point and will HAVE to get drafted..

How would that happen? While the 2011 season is in jeopardy, the 2011 draft is almost a certainty.

you have to look at this kinda like the bailey trade to an extent, meaning there was no way he was going to stay here and be a back up. at this point his bags were packed and he was just looking for a flight to board

Re: Campbell A Raider

The Raider's fans discuss their starting QB "delima". Sounds like many discussion had on our board, just different names. I do like this one particular point made about JC in why they should start JC over Grads: " I don't know if he can produce like Jason has in the midst of a poor running game, bad OL play and craziness in the front office and sidelines. Jason has..."

LOL... Yeah I stopped buying jerseys for this very reason... On the up side I already have a Mcnabb jersey from Syracuse so I'm good for now. I don't dare curse him by buying a Mcnabb Redskins jersey.
