Last time I checked you can't trade UFAs. If we had paid him above market value(like we paid Portis even though there was another year left in his deal...) he would have been happy all the way to the bank.

No, in reality we traded Champ Bailey and a 2nd round pick for Portis.

Rams are going to get Bradford or Clausen. Why get Donovan who will only be around for the forementioned 3-6 years, when they can groom a new franchise QB? I agree with the others, just some "noise" to throw folks off. Maybe the Eagles want to mess with the Skins in making them think they are looking for a QB also. Who knows?

Three - Six years of a known product is a pretty good time frame in the NFL. I don't know if they do this, but if they do it opens up a lot of their options in the draft.

Kansas City and New Orleans have below average passing defenses, so I agree it wasn't by accident.

Manning didn't do that to New Orleans.

Yeah, but he still threw for 333 yards, and New Orleans' pass defense is ranked below average. Also, yardage doesn't mean much either way in determining how good a quarterback is.

Either way, I don't care who is playing who, you don't dismiss two games in a row like that.

He is better than anything we have.

Still that was the Super Bowl. Aside from bringing your A game you also get two weeks to gameplan. Though a big part of the reason for New Orleans winning was their ability to keep the ball out of Mannings hands for around 70 minutes.

The interception (from the below average pass defense) didn't hurt either.

Welcome to The Warpath McD5. On the subject of Champ Bailey, if I remember right, SmootSmack or someone has mentioned before that Champ wanted out of town. Something to do with a woman.

Of course. But he has been one of my favorite Redskins for a long, long time.

I like what he represented. I like the fact that his salary was low. I like his ability to catch passes, and even return kicks.

In a decade consisting mostly of pain, he was extremely easy to cheer for.
