Yeah, except for the years he was World Champion, his teams were bad.

I think that he meant the full approach so far. I mean we all have our thoughts but until the season culminates we can speculate on and judge the moves and non-moves all that we want. They've constantly said that the plan is over the coming years, maybe they'd rather be the 3rd little piggy.

Maybe they signed him to make JC look good.

I agree...I don't think the Redskins have any intentions of trading Jason Campbell, and that's not just because he will command a 1st round pick. The team will be improved from a personnel standpoint and he will be given every opportunity to perform with a full complement of stable players.

yeah i see competition on the horizon as well. while i would rather have JC over rex right now (id have to see rex play to really make a comparison) i do think rex may look better early on b/c he knows the system.

sandy - you have to pull the trigger and take a chance on getting a potential franchise qb at some point. sitting at no. 4 gives us a chance that may not be around again for a long time.

whats worse - taking a chance at consistent competition for a SB or wallowing in .500 mediocrity football for another decade?

im pretty sure if bradford or claussen bust, we can find a vet game-managing qb and play .500 ball like we have for the longest time.

if bradford or claussen dont bust and turn up legit, well my friend, the skins may be legit contenders for the SB for years to come.

dare to great.

It's March... you might want to give him a chance.

Re: Redskins Sign Grossman

Rex CAN be good, sometimes, but if he's not it's an ugly disaster.

He's boom or bust any Sunday. He could throw for 250, 80% passing and 3 TDs...or 40 yards on 10% passing with 4 INTs. He's Jeckyl and Hyde in shoulder pads.

That's not nearly enough to give the Rams. There is a 1200 point difference between the #1 pick and the #4 pick. 1200 points is equal to the 12th pick in the 1st round...there is not a person in the world that would give us any #1 pick for JC let alone the 12th pick.

Even if you assign JC a 2nd round value(which I doubt he's worth) you would still need to kick in at least the skins 2nd round pick.

I didn't know an offer had been made, but it does not surprise me that he turned down an offer of which he was not satisfied with. Maybe he feels he can do better elsewhere. We shall see if there's any other suitors and how much they're willing to offer him.

I don't think any move they have made so far sheds any light at all on what thier plan is. They have signed a few backup types. Until we see trades start happening and draft picks made we do not really know what they are doing, so to label it soft is just rediculous.

Maybe. Or maybe the Rams take the lesser value because they get a starting QB but save the #1 pick money.

So what if they trade Campbell and the #4 to St Louis? You are still stuck paying out a contract for a #1 overall pick, QB none the less who gets paid more than anyone. Take a look at past #1 overall QB taken, they get TONS of money. And if a franchise if not careful, it could set thier team back as much as 10 years. Case in point:

JaMarcus Russell
Ryan Leaf (ok he was the 2nd pick, but you see what I mean)

The #1 overall pick is scary enough to choose, but on a QB it is magnified ten-fold.
By this reasoning, the Colts should never have selected or paid Peyton Manning.

Not really. (hate to defend a Dallas fan, but)

He was saying making a bad choice with a #1 overall pick on a QB can devastate a franchise for a long time, both on the field and wallet. He is right.

I do not think Bradford or any QB this year is such a sure thing that would merit taking #1 OR especially trading up to take #1. If we would do that, it needs to be a sure deal that he'll be an incredible pro QB (and durable).
