I like this front office, they see what I see pretty much. They cut Betts!!! or Bettis or whatever is on his jersey this week.

Re: Is the new Redskins Front Office Gun Shy?
I honestly think that they'd rather wait till next year to continue building (after all, it's a never ending process) and get what they really want vs a guy that could probably start a few years that we'd end up cutting or forcing into a backup role.

Another point of view, is that they want to see the impact of the cuts on those who remain. Now lets see what the remaining players do at the Mar 15th workouts before we go hogwild on these 2nd tier FA's

Re: Is the new Redskins Front Office Gun Shy?
i think that regardless of what is said to the media they(allen&shanahan) know deep down this is a rebuilding phase, not a restructuring phase, if you aren't ready to watch some mediocre football for the next year or two you need not tune in on sundays. there may be a glimmer of hope here and there but for the next couple years the skins will be a middle of the pack team. to see the true effect of the front office moves we will get a real look at that hopefully in three years.

They are on the decline of their careers and not worth what they are asking. We might as well have kept the ones we cut.

Re: Is the new Redskins Front Office Gun Shy?
^ Is that really true if the market with the other 31 teams will give them what they ask for?

It's like gas prices some people don't mind paying high prices, while others shop around for lower prices.

Re: Is the new Redskins Front Office Gun Shy?
I question not making a move to get Dansby since he's as good as you're gonna get as a FA if you consider age and talent. We do need a starting caliber LB. You have to draft 2 late rounders to find 1

not premium performance. I would not be soo against this strategy if we had some more draft picks, but we don' t.

Plus there are a whole bunch of other factors, like sometimes guys just have in their minds specifics teams or people they want to play for

Re: Is the new Redskins Front Office Gun Shy?
After seeing what happened to Plaxico and Gilbert I sure hope they're gun shy!! LOL.
Seriously, I'm not sure what the philosophy is just yet but I know the previous one wasn't working. I'm taking a "wait and see" approach. HAIL!!
