Re: Shanahan Combine Interview on Sirius

No suprises by Shannahans responses, really.
He has worked with CP in that past and knows the player fairly well.

All he knows about Campbell is what he sees on tape and what he has seen in the short time he has been in charge.

It just makes sense that a man of Shanahans caliber would want to reserve any judgement on Campbell untill he has time to work with him and make his own assessments.

Don't you just love it when coaches speak? Especially when they've been around long enough to know how to say a lot without really saying anything. The questions the media ask sometimes make me wonder exactly what do they expect him to say.

Ok so does this mean that Orakpo will put his hand down and then at the last minute decided if he rushes in a 3 point stance or standing up? Does this mean we'll be having a hybrid 3-4/4-3 defense which a majority of the people wanted here.

yeah.. base 3-4 but will go with 4 from time to time

think the ravens, what they do with suggs

so likely orakpo will be our suggs and will come in as the 4th man, but with keeping the same 3-4 personnel out there

You sound like Parcells.

Re: Shanahan Combine Interview on Sirius

I like the 3-4 defense in general -- but I'd really love for someone to tell me where the hell we're going to find a nose tackle. The 3-4 defense relies on having that keystone player, and we simply don't have it. AH is a great DT, but he's not built to play DT in a 3-4, not big enough. Neither of the two stud rookie DTs are setup to play NT either. Both Suh and McCoy would move to DE in a 3-4.

Wilfolk got tagged, is anyone coming available that will be an NT in the uncapped year?

Cody could slip to us in the 2nd because of his weight. I like the pick if we draft an OT at No.4 or wherever we pick first.

Re: Shanahan Combine Interview on Sirius

This isn't based on anything official but I keep on feeling like we'll be selecting a Linebacker with our second pick. I mean maybe it's just bad leftover feelings from when Vinny was still here.

Of course according to our very own JLC, Vinny still has Snyders ear and could impact who the teams draft.......ha hahahaahaahahahahah LMAO. Come on whats next aliens are putting together our draft board. I don't think he can admit that Sndyer finally did the right thing.

Re: Shanahan Combine Interview on Sirius

If Brandon Spikes keeps slipping as rumored he might be there for us at the top of the 2nd and wouldn't be a bad choice

Trade down, get a 1st and a 3rd

1st-Charles Brown
2nd-Brandon Spikes
3rd-Kyle Calloway
4th-JEVAN SNEAD
5th-some running back dude

I could live with that.

Just curious but Charles Brown is projected to be a late first round/early second round pick. in this scenario where do you see us trading down to, because a top 5 pick is worth a lot more then just a late first and a third.

If we need a nose tackle and Cam Thomas of UNC slips to the 4th, I think he'd be a good pick. He's projected to go in the 3rd.
