Re: 2010 opponents, first thoughts
On paper, that's a tougher schedule than this year.
I'm willing to be patient through a rough 2010 if the FO stops acting like we're one free agent blockbuster from contending for the Super Bowl. If we learned nothing else this year, the team has numerous holes (especially on the O-line) and a lack of quality depth. I'm hoping for a shift in emphasis away from the quick FA fix and toward stockpiling draft picks / building primarily through the draft. |

Re: 2010 opponents, first thoughts
Next Year the NFL needs to give the Redskins a game at home vs. a non divisional opponent at 1:00.
Why? In the past two years the Washington Redskins played the Giants @ Giants Stadium. The 1st year the Giants were coming off a SB and the crowd was ecstatic, as were the players. It was a defensive game for the Redskins and we lost 16-7 I believe. We went on to win two home games at home against two good teams the Cards and Saints. We finished 6-2 WITH JASON CAMPBELL WITH A DECENT OLINE in the first half of the season. 0-1 in PRIMETIME. Then we played 2-6 the other half to wrap up the season. Honestly I do not know what happened to make us go from 6-2 to 2-6 but I do know that is one reason why Zirn kept his job. The 2nd year got fans pumped up! We were hoping that the draft would bring some O/D LINE DEPTH and some talent on defense and offense. Well Vinny Cerrato and crew had other plans and obviously wanted to improve the RANK 4 DEFENSE, after we already signed Albert. In the offseason we were looking at the schedule compared to 2008 trying to discuss how or even if we can top an 6-2 record from 08. The season started with another heart-breaking loss to the Giants. 23-16. If it wasn't for our punter, yes the punter we wouldve still had those lovely SHAUN SUISHAM FGS at Half. The next TD came off a no huddle offense in desperation of points playing against a Giants defense sitting in zone. We all know the depressing story of this season. What I am trying to say is a [ convincing ] week 1 win next year could really help this team. But this is my opinion. MOMENTUM IS A B•T•H!!!!!!!! HTTR!!!!! |

Nothing because there's going to be a lockout. Just trying to maintain the uplifting tone of the thread.

Re: 2010 opponents, first thoughts
Do you have us going 0-6 in division again? If so, hard to see how the rest of the schedule would even be relevant.

Re: 2010 opponents, first thoughts
We will be 6-10 at best next year if there aren't drastic changes. The only games I definitely feel we have a shot to win are Tampa, STL, and Detroit. I also think we have a change to beat Philly and Dallas at least once, the Giants for whatever reason, we can never beat. That being said, there are 5 wins and factor in another fluke and you get 6 wins and 10 loses.

Re: 2010 opponents, first thoughts
If only we could have traded places with Arizona when they got to move to the NFC West. Where 8-8 wins the division.

Re: 2010 opponents, first thoughts
Well, I'm waiting to see what happens this offseason.... I mean we're not going to be good overnight... we have a ton of holes, and I really think the roster turnover this year is going to be the biggest turnover we've seen in a long time. So I dont really know what we'll be working with for next year... my thought is... I dont know that we could possibly be worse than this year... but man that schedule is brutal, I want to wait til March or so and see what we're looking like after free agency, get a feel for the draft...

Re: 2010 opponents, first thoughts
Thanks, I try
Well it can be arranged. All we have to do is move to L.A. and get the Rams kicked out of the NFC West. C iz simplez?!!?!?
