Re: Matt Taibbi on Dan Snyder

Taibbi rocks, but why he did a piece on sports is beyond me? He was a founder of The Exile in Moscow, the English language rag in Moscow in the mid to late 90's. He did great articles on the corruption in the Yeltsin era then came back to America and ended up with the Rolling Stone gig(He writes for The Nation, etc). He is a pretty good writer. His recent stuff on Wall Street is great in explaining how the market was inflated, etc. Yes he is over the top, but you have to be to keep folks reading unfortunately nowadays. THe younger crowd needs the attitude and entertainment factor to read. I am sorry to hear him think Fletcher was a dumb move. London has basically been the only good FA move Snyder has made, other than the Haynesworth signing.

The jury is still out i think on whether the Haynesworth signing was a good move. Good player? Most definatley. Good for our team? Check. 100 million dollar salary for a team that is already barely under the cap each year? Negative....

Most of our cap sins can be fixed in the...........uncapped year. It would be a great time to address such matters

He won't see over half of that $100 million. The real number is somewhere between 41 and 48

He's been doing a monthly article on football this season. He should definitely stick with what he knows.

Yeah I figured that when the guys said he thought Fletcher was a bad signing. If it were Hall or even Haynesworth I could see where he was coming from, but corruption and poltics is what he knows best.

Agreed, Tiabbi needs to stick to politics. London Fletcher is awesome.

Yeah I don't think anyone earnestly following the sport could say London Fletcher was a bad acquisition, by any standard or measurement. Just look at my avatar

Yeah never understood why Keith Olbermann is doing the football thing either on MSNBC. He is too tight to be a sportscaster. Taibbi is at his best when he writes what he is passionate about/what pisses him off the most.

Well at least Olbermann or whatever started in sports (i think his first major gig was fox sports channel) but yeah he was mostly baseball I thought. He sucks on football broadcasting...haven't seen him this year?

The league ultimately passed him by, and clearly he is a complete nut job at this point, but its not like he never accomplished anything. I doubt Dan Snyder will ever have a bust in Canton. So comparing Dan Snyder and Al Davis, as much as that would likely horrify Snyder, actually does a disservice to Al Davis.
Yeah people dont understand, Al was a great owner. If anything Snyder should learn that even a great and respected owner can eventually be viewed as insane and hated by their own fans. Danny is neither great nor respected, so his leash is shorter.

If things dont change soon, the Skins could see a dark dark upcoming decade.

You are wrong there, our Dline looks light years ahead of years' past. If our offense held up some of their end of the bargin we could be a top 2-3 defense.

Next time you watch a game just watch Fat Albert the entire game. You will be shocked to see his impact.

watching which part what they show on tv or what u see at the game, cause at the games i see him make a great play every five downs or so then see him walk off the feild and sit by himself on the bench, although not as much lately, but when i was in carolina, he was in the middle of three benches and no one was one either one next to him it was kinda sad, then i remembered he rode a cart off the field the week past then came back out
