Re: Week 7: Around the NFL

and how many special team/Def. TD's did we see this week. Minnesota lost cuz Pitt got 2 Def TDs. NO locked their games on Def TD.

Like Goat said. Watching these other teams shows the Skins ineffectiveness in all aspects. very discouraging.

Re: Week 7: Around the NFL

Then there were THREE: Saints, Colts, and Denver all undefeated, at week 7. The Saints and The Broncos have to be the biggest surprises.

Watched Pitt - Vikings game, only one note, bogus tripping call, 14 point swing and Vikes should have won. Gotta love Pitt defense though. How come Skins never get those breaks.

The Panthers gave them the ball twice within their own 20, and the Skins still lost. They get breaks. They just don't do jack with them.

Even teams with supposedly BAD Offensive lines, like the Packers, still manage to put up points week in and week out. And every week, I see Receivers catching passes without necessarily being OPEN, many of which, like you said, are absolute no-names. Receivers who can't get open and bad Offensive lines are such feeble excuses.

Maybe if the Skins were only managing 17-20 points a game, but there's no excuse for 6 points against the Chiefs. To be that bad, you have to suck at everything, from top to bottom.

Re: Week 7: Around the NFL

LOL you guys...yeah I'm also hoping to see the Saints take the trophy home this year.

I think the things to watch for, aside from Brees avoiding injury, are the defense and Shockey. In some years Williams really seems to get his defense dialed in late in the season. I think it was inconsistent in Washington because we've constantly had so many aging vets on the roster who would often wear down significantly with the season, but still it seemed to me Williams scheme improved. I don't know enough about NO's defense to say they'll wear down or tighten up. And then there's Shockey. I mean he's a headcase equally likely to tear a defense apart or his team apart. He's having a blast so far this season and really getting into it w/ the fans and the crowd. Shockey keeping a good attitude means a lot to his team.

I have seen his personality being polarizing in the sense that when he is fired up or negative on the field it is infectious to the team.

Yea and we gave the Panthers a break when the punt hit sorry ass Byron Westbrook. We draft Barnes and he can't even dress on game day. What a wasted 3rd pick. You think we could have found a O-Lineman in the 3rd round VC?

Well maybe sometime this season our coaches may try to have JC roll out on some pass plays. Also maybe we can move the pocket to by him time with our depleted O-Line. Do we have the screen pass in our WC offense? I never see us use it in the game. How about the wr screen to Thomas and Moss to get them the ball to make a play. Please Sherman be more creative than Jim Boring Zorn. Can someone light a fire under Jim Zorns ass?
