Oh boy...this is bad...but...don't expect Jones to play this week..no way...good thing there is a bye. Ganther runs like Rock a bit...not many moves..depth only.
I guess Vinny is bailing on the scat back idea and realizes the only way to run now is straight through the line...either that or someone else has noticed that.

If you got a crappy line...you need to spend ZERO time behind the line of scrimmage.
Another note is Mason absolutely SUCKED at pass protection and alridge was way too small to pick up a blitz...that makes them unusable...maybe this new kid can block or something.

Vinny had to do something...his job is on the line...I wouldn't be suprised if he trades a midrounder for another olineman...heck...he may not be here to deal with the missing pick if he doesn't do something more...he needs to move now to get value out of the bye...ideally a young primary backup on a West coast team....either that or an OLB...but due to pressure on offense from the media, he would never do that.

This is just another FU by Vinny & Snyder and I'm sure Zorn also screwed up something here also.

Correction, we cut 2 running backs to sign one! Net result is -1 running backs.

Are you one of those fans who will just rip and complain at ANYTHING the Redskins do? Geez, lol. For MONTHS all I read on here is whining about the offensive line. We go out and sign an offensive lineman, in Week 6 when there's not much-if anything-out there and 'This is another FU'. I don't get the point of bitching just to bitch. Are you that miserable as a fan dude? Find something else to occupy your time then.

Ganther may have been picked up because he's a better blocker than Mason or Aldridge... i don't know that for a fact - i just assume he has to be, because theyre both awful. Considering how weak our O-line is, it makes sense to have RBs on the roster who can block... this could free up Cooley to chip block and run more routes instead of staying behind to block so much. Of course, Ganther will probably not see much playing time... just like the guys he's replacing.

Levi Jones may not be worthy of starting on a roster in 31 other NFL teams, but he's probably an upgrade over BOTH Heyer and Williams. Unless he's hurt, i expect him to be our starting LT within a couple weeks. Heyer will move back to the right side and Williams will move back to backup duty.

Ultimately, both these moves are solid in my book. We cut two of the FIVE running backs on our roster for a better running back and starting left tackle. These guys come to us free. We didn't trade any 2010 draft picks. Be happy.

I wouldn't be so sure that Heyer moves back into his starting spot. If Williams plays decently, I could see him staying there if Jones takes over at LT.

I could see that, as well - i just wasn't too disappointed with Heyers play at RT to begin with. He wasn't great but he wasnt a constant liability either. If Williams continues to play well, he'd easily surpass Heyer - i just havent seen enough from him yet. If just one of these three guys can hold the RT position down for us for another year or two, it would allow us to address other, more pressing, positions on the line in the draft next year.

It is interesting that you should bring that up. Let’s for a moment assume that Vinny’s hide is on the line. Do you believe that Snyder would allow Vinny to trade away a pick if he might not be here to suffer the consequences? I feel that if Vinny is on a short leash that the only way he will have permission to use another Redskins owned pick is if he rights the ship right now with the limited resources that he does have.

Good one!

Realistically though...did any of us think Heyer was a legit starting LT?
I expected him to give up a couple sacks...and he apparantly did.
I didn't watch the game for the first time in years.
I choose to be happy again.

Levi Jones will start after the bye...I guarantee it.
Heyer aint a horrible RT though.
We basically now have 4 Tackles that are very similar...they all kinda SUCK
Its just that Levi probably sucks less than the others...assuming he knew the playbook!
(excluding Samuals of course)

Based on the past...yes, I believe Snyder would let Vinny do whatever the hell he wants with future picks...excluding top picks.

It doesn't matter anyways, the trade deadline just passed.

Williams played very well on Sunday. The Jones move could send Heyer to the pine. Too bad for the young runners, but the way this teams makes moves they could be brought back again.

At this point...why not try Renaldo Wynn at OT too.
