Re: Redskins sign Veteran Punter Dirk Johnson

First of all Hunter Smith is the best punter and i have no clue why we arent getting him instead, second of all according to the fan votes on the site they say punter is the least needed position to be addressed, but i disagree, because if the punter kicks the ball the wrong way off his shoe and it goes 10 yards, then were screwed...its all about were you want the opposing team with the ball to start from, their 20 our 30??

Anybody knows if we're addressing the kicking game? I mean Suish did suck it up big time last year kicking field goals.

Well we did get rid of Frost and Brooks so your ten yard theory is out the window!

Come on, they are looking to get the best Punter available for the right price. And certainly someone that can punt for more than 10 yards this guy didn't quit high school to be brought in.

We have to be smart about how much is spent on our Punter as important (unfortunately) as that part of the game is. We have other needs (OT, DE, LB) that need to be addressed, that far out way the current Punter situation.

We now have competition, let the best Punter win the job.

These punter signings remind me of the old George Foreman muffler commercial.

Vinny says:"I'm not gonna pay alot for this punter!"

Re: Redskins sign Veteran Punter Dirk Johnson

I'm not sure about this move. His punting average last year (41.8) was a whole tenth of a yard better than Plackemeier (41.7).

Is this somehow and upgrade? In his 7 year career he's only averaged over 42yds/punt twice.

Re: Is Johnson a upgrade to Plackemeier

Not really. I thought Plack would get another shot. I thought he was improving.

Dirk's numbers aren't as good as Frosty's.

We're going to get along nicely.

I liked Frost. He liked hitting people.
