Ladell Betts production was down this year because of his knee injuries. I think he is a legitimate back. The Skins should use Betts and Cartwright more to elevate the load on Portis.

I like Betts as a backup to Portis but if we are talking about a 2 back approach with a more even carry split I think that 2nd back needs to be a homerun threat. Betts style is not different enough from Portis...when he's in there we don't present the defense a different look but the same look with lesser talent.

I agree 100% with that. Portis isn't slow, but he's not a threat to rip 60 yard runs either.

I wouldn't mind signing Derrick Ward from the Giants. He's a UFA this year.
