Yea....don't forget ESPN will show a 30 second clip of a Skins win and talk for hours about how the rest of the league did on the same day but god forbid if Dallas wins. I bet if someone has the nads to watch ESPN you will see high lights all week mostly about the Dallas win. I also bet they show the game atleast twice on the NFL network. |

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs Cowboys)
Agree w/ SS take. I'll add:
JC looks slower for some reason....slower than many other young QB's like Flacco, Ryan, Romo, Edwards, Rodgers. He's just not too mobile and that might be his achilles heel. He's gotten alot better in his pocket presence but he still not there. Don't get me wrong our Oline wasn't good last night, but JC didn't shine either. JC needs near perfect protection to be really good. Most QB's can be pretty good w/ near perfect protection. Defensive Line: No pass rush Playcalling: Let it rip a little bit. If John Madden keeps repeating that we need to loosen up the Defense we probably do. No more 3 yard outs if they're not giving it to us. Defense: Played pretty well. Our O didn't help out one bit. Home Field Advantage: We have absolutely no home field advantage, because we lose at home quite often. Good teams don't do this. It is what it is: We're a below average offensive team. The #'s show this. We're 10 games in. I've been worried that we can't put up points against bad teams only to hear...a win's a win. It is, but, that's why I was worried. We can't score points. We are also a very good defensive team. |

To add to your first post: Home Field Advantage: Ummm, where is it? We've lost 3 out of 4 at home. It's so tough to win on the road in this league, if you can't take care of business in your own house, you're not going far. Pass Rush: Demetric Evans is better than Jason Taylor. Plain and simple. Everyone can look at past statistics and accolades, blah blah blah. Demetric leads the team in sacks and is better against the run. I don't know if Taylor is still injured or if he's just lost it, but he doesn't deserve to be on the field right now. 4th Quarter Defense: With the game on the line, they run Marion Barber down our throat 11, yes ELEVEN straight times, and we can't stop it at all. You're playing at home against your archrival in a game you've dubbed "must win," you know exactly what's coming, and you can't stop it? Embarrassing. The D has been our strong suit overall, but that was a sad showing to end the game. On a side note, I've seen a few comments about Buges not being in it. Our O-line starters have been around long enough to know their assignments. Buges not mentally being 100% for a few weeks has not caused this regression. Age and quickly diminishing skills have. When I look at our bad O-line and lack of pass rush, I can't help but think of how we used our 3 top picks on pass catchers, and two of them can't even make it on the field.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs Cowboys)
Defense was great. Bottom line, you give up 14 points to a talented team, you have done your job. Obviously, they should have sold out and stopped Barber in the fourth quarter, but defense was not the problem.
If not for Cartwright, we would have have only one scoring drive all game, and we needed to convert a fourth down to keep that drive alive. Campbell played tough, was hit often and got rid of the ball under duress on a number of occasions, but overall played poorly. The fourth and four summarized his night. Even if Moss catches that ball, it is not a first down. You need to a least give yourself a chance for success. I believe when he stepped up in the pocket, he could have run for a first. Jason, take what you can and live for another play. Let's try to WIN the game...you play way too conservatively. On the bright side, we shouldn't have to break the bank to retain services. |

Wait, I thought we won the draft? Now you're telling me we lost it?

I'm not saying at least one of our three top picks won't pan out, I'm saying we should have drafted the one guy we had highest on our chart (Thomas I guess), and used the other two to bolster some badly needed offensive depth.

Look, it's hard to believe that our WRs aren't still in good position for the future, but we're going to need to see something from Malcolm Kelly in the last six games to go in feeling like we accomplished something.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs Cowboys)
It's not that we're 6-4 instead of 8-2 or 7-3. It's not even that we've lost two in a row at home in ugly fashion. It's the fact that we had a chance to BURY our archrival with a regular season sweep in front of a home crowd and wasted the opportunity. We gave our hated rival their season back. That to me is just flat out nauseating.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs Cowboys)
its disgusting.
didnt score off turnovers, so getting them means shit. jason taylor, i completly agree, get him off the field he isnt playing well AT ALL right now. DeAngelo, welcome.... u should have been in when Fred was gasping for air... shaun alexander? ... goodbye dude, have a seat Rock should be ahead of u on the depth chart u are terrible and dont even deserve to have reps in the game. jason campbell ... can't zoom in on moss so much and force him the ball... can't blame u for the O-Line lack of pass pro.... clinton, played well as usual... but i think maybe u should have rested 2 be honest. suisam ... what else is new, good for a critical miss in every game more so than not. fletcher, where were u 95% of the game last night? REFS - F OFF. BARBER'S ELBOW WAS DOWN AND THE BALL DIDNT BREAK THE PLAIN. AND IM GLAD UR ALL THE SUDDEN ALLOWED 2 BE IN THE NUETRAL ZONE WHEN THE BALL IS SNAPPED AND ITS NOT OFFSIDE... GET A NEW CAREER CUZ UR NOT WORTH THE SHT THAT COMES OUTTA MY ASS IN THE NFL. READ THE FUCKIN RULE BOOK ROCK HAD THE BALL AND WASNT ON THE GOAL-LINE THAT PLAY IS DEAD AT THAT POINT. CLINTON WAS OUT-OF BOUNDS THANKS FOR FUCKING UP A POSSIBLE TD DRIVE BEFORE THE HALF. F'N DISGRACEFUL REFS. that is all. im frustrated now.
