I'm not jumping on the move Springs to safety boat. He's slowly turning into the Shaquille O'Neal of football. Miss about a quarter of the season, show up for the playoffs. Its just nice to field healthy CB's. Everybody seems to be a gameday decision.

oh my.....tryon will be lucky to land on the practice squad.
Torrence is fine for his position....#4 corner...in fact for that, he is far above average to good....now he is a 5....probably the best #5 in the NFL.
Tryon should never get on the field this year...being young, doesn't make you good. Based on Tryon's performance in preseason, the only reason they kept him is because of age.
He needs to go....groom his skills on the practice field and fight for #4 or 5 next year.

Stop dogging Torrence folks...he aint great....but c'mon...hes a #4....name a better one in the last few years for us.....jimoh? HA!

Given the current situation, wouldn't Torrence be considered #5 when all of our corners are healthy? I'm just saying.

Wow.....was he serious or is that like if Moses Malone were to say "I've been associated with some all-time greats. Julius Erving, Charles Barkley, Dominique Wilkins, Bernard King and of course, John "Hot Plate" Williams."?

Re: Hall agrees to one year deal with skins

One other thing...
I wonder how Springs is taking this.
He is due big money next year and the talk the last 2 years is that we've been trying to cut him for someone else.
That dude must have a really thick skin by now.

He is our best player in the secondary and we bring it a guy that has been sucking that is supposedly a #1 or #2 corner?

That is Springs' spot.
Now I know what you'll all say.....Springs is always injured and getting older...but I think hes only like 32 or something (someone check) and thats hardly done for a guy that plays rock solid. The only problem is he misses games.

Question:
If Hall pans out, is there any way the Skins can afford to keep Springs, Smoot, Rodgers and Hall next year, while extending both Hall and Rodgers?

That to me, is a killer CB posse'....that group could stay together for 3 years.
(I really think Hall is a #3 CB like Smoot)

AND....I say no to using Springs as a Safety...he's a corner....a good one...dont screw it up!

I am a big Hokie fan and watching this guy through college was incredible. He definetly has talent, he is super fast and I think honestly he wasn't that happy in Oakland. Who would be ??!! So I think its a safe smart move. He is a very talented player and I'm very excited to watch him play

Re: Hall agrees to one year deal with skins

I just saw a phone interview (I think) on Sportsnite and Carlos Rogers was questioning how they were going to find playing time for everybody. Not a good sign but may be just a knee-jerk reaction.

Re: Hall agrees to one year deal with skins

I know this is an odd question, but if he does not sign with us next year, does that mean we get compensatory picks for him if he signs a huge contract some where else? If so, thats just another great reason we signed him. Even without that, it is a no lose situation only costing us $492000.

Re: Hall agrees to one year deal with skins

I am wary about this guy...but one thing that makes me think this might work out is that NE wanted him....I am still unsure of our front office, but we all know NE front office is solid...so....this may just work out....I will cross my toes... not my fingers, those are for Erasumus James, not the other fingers, that is for Alexander, not the other toes, that is for Jason Taylor, not every hair left on my head....those are for all of our draft picks...
odds are, someone eventually will pan out, look at horton!

Let's hope D. Hall doesn't = Pacman or TO.

Re: Hall agrees to one year deal with skins

i heard carlos rogers on comcast and he said that he thought that hall was gonna have it rough finding playing time.now i'm sure that coach blanche would not have wanted him to be signed, zorn either if he were just gonna ride the pine.i can see him playing a lot more just for the fact of letting landry blitz more and from different parts of the field.
i also think that redskins have enough leaders to keep hall's ego in check.all he needs is one screw up for fletcher, taylor, portis,or moss to crawl his ass so bad he'll never do it again.

Excellent question and I think you may be right.
If we lose him to free agency to a major contract, I am pretty sure that puts us in line for one of these picks based off of the value of his new contract and playing time....I just dont know if they will knock that down that pick because he is only with us for half a year....I sure hope not...that would be a screaming deal..
