That is my prediction and I am sticking to it. It is always the guy that you slap in the face and tell him that he cannot do it that comes back to proove you wrong. Right now Colt is taking a big bite of a shit sandwich. I have a feeling that in a few years his critics will be eating humble pie.

I do not have a man crush on him, but I do think that he displays the physical and mental toughness to get it done. Do not worry, I don't have mural or a shrine of him in my house or anything.

Your last line sounded like another QB we drafted.

I like Colt and I think he has a good chance to become a great QB in the NFL. I live in Idaho so I follow Boise State and Hawaii every year. He's done pretty well under pressure and has had a lot of come-back games. I know he didn't do too well in the Senior Bowl and he probably is a work in progress but he has the talent and potential imo. He also didn't do too well in the Georgia game but like a couple ppl mentioned his o-line got killed and he's really the main reason they even got the chance to play in that game. I don't know if he's the right choice for the Skins but I think he might surprise some ppl when he gets his chance to play in the NFL but I might be wrong....

honestly, he did make up a lot of ground at the combine. his accuracy was back, his weight was way up. it just sucks he didn't decide to prepare better for the senior bowl, cause it really tanked him.

i do think he'd be a good value pick if he's there with our 5th pick, but future #2 QB isn't really worth spending much more on. I know LDS likes the guy though, so we might try our comp pick on him (essentially an early 4th rounder) without screwing up the rest of our draft.

Well, we will need a 3rd stringer, so taking Brennan and letting him learn the pro system as well as hit the weight room for a year or two is not such a bad thing.

if colt brennan falls to us in the sixth round i would do it, but any earlier it would be a waste because he doesnt have a very big arm and hes undersized

We Need To Pick This Kid Up, Even Though He Throws A Little Side Arm, He Still Is Extremely Accurate Esp. In The West Coast Off. That He Played In Hawaii!!!! Colt Brennan Needs To Be In There Plans Because That Kid Has More Promise Than Bo Bo Brain Brohm Or Any Of Those Schmucks!!!

For a guy that's set all kinds of records and can obviously play, should we draft him if he slides to the 3rd-5th round of the draft.

I think you've got to take a chance on him if he slides to the 4th round or later (i believe we have a 4th....no i didn't research it). Yes, i know JC is our guy, but why not take a chance to groom someone that could work on mechanics and build strength. Then in a couple years, who knows...Good qb's are hard to find and everyone wants one. Think of Rivers/Brees. Thoughts?
After watching him against Georgia, I say let him keep falling.

Here is the kid to get in the mid to latter rounds as the third QB!

Josh Johnson - San Diego.

He simply dominated 1-AA competition his senior year! 1 INT in 301 attempts! Career TD to INT ratio was 113 - 15!

Re: What if Colt Brennan falls to the middle late rounds?

You have to compare Brennan to other mid round QB prospects that your scouts decide on.

We have a need at QB, so if we're in the 6th and he's the highest rated QB on our board, I mean, why not. But you don't just take the guy because he's Colt Brennan. If you have a higher rated prospect, that would be stupid.

I bet you if this guy's first name was Mortimer there would be a lot less supporters of this QB.

Some people just like the sound of a name as opposed to the attributes of the player.

Brennan can't play. His release is all messed up...his passes will be batted down left and right. He's a major project. I would spend even a 7th round pick on him.

Re: What if Colt Brennan falls to the middle late rounds?

Alright, this is crazy and I wish I could prove it because no one is going to believe it!

I was playing Madden the other day and started my 14th season in franchise mode (I dont have an adapter for online play and have no life... what can I say?) and the 49ers had the 12th overall pick in the draft. In round 4 they drafted a QB from Hawaii by the name of.... COLT BRENNAN. Isnt that crazy? I do not know what pick they have this year but it is still crazy that it happened.

It shall be known from this day foward, that because of a sign witnessed by Stuck in TX that Colt Brennan will be drafted by the 49ers this year. I wont call the round b/c if it comes true I may join a cult.

IT HAS BEEN CALLED.

There were many times this year where he wasn't having a very good game but would still drive down for the winning touchdown. He can handle pressure, and he has the composure to drive down for the winning/tying score. He is developed enough for a pro system, especially a passing system (Jim Zorn's system). I say if he falls to the fifth or sixth snag him and keep him as our third stringer, you never know who will be the next tom brady.
Brennen....is that you, you sly dog. Come on a Skins web site simply to get the Skins to recognize you so you can be picked up by the Skins and trained by (supposedly the best QB Coach) Zorn? You Devil. ; )
