Re: Sean Salisbury vs John Clayton
I'd have to agree with Mattyk72. If you ever watch these two go at it on ESPN, they take shots at each other all the time. Some times Salisbury comes across like a d*ck, some times Clayton is the d-bag. Salisbury probably apologized afterwards, but if he didn't, they are big boys. They can take it. Just my opinion, but think of this: how many times did anyone think Stephen A. Smith came across as being harsh when he was first on ESPN? I did, but after listening to what he had to say over time, I've come to respect what he says. He makes valid points, even if it seems like he's "up in your face" with what he says. He's friggin' awesome & his show is great on ESPN Radio.

I recently started listening to Smith's show and I have to say I really like him too. I like him more on the radio vs. on TV. Plus he just cracks me up how he gets fired up over things. |

Re: Sean Salisbury vs John Clayton
Stephen A. Smith is hysterical when he goes into his rants. Mattyk72, we some times don't agree about things on here, but on this, I think we are on the same page.

Re: Sean Salisbury vs John Clayton
I figured Salisbury was like his character from "The Benchwarmers"...
SmootSmack has said it numerous times that these 2 have nothing but the utmost respect for each other, and since all 3 have the same signature on their paychecks, I'll go ahead and tend to believe Double S when he talks about it.

Re: Sean Salisbury vs John Clayton
I keep seeing "SS" and think you guys are talking about me
As for Stephen A. Smith, I don't know what to make of him. I do seem to remember one time he had a guest on his show, some college basketball coach and he was talking about players that wouldn't be returning and suddenly Smith cut him off at one name and said, in his loud manner, "Are you telling me that (John Doe) is not returning next season?! You're saying that right here? You are confirming that he will not return next season?" And the coach said, "Well yeah...he's a senior" Poor Stephen got schooled. Anyhow, as for Clayton and Salisbury they do get a little riled up sometimes but it's not really a huge deal. Salisbury can really push your buttons sometimes though

Re: Sean Salisbury vs John Clayton
Salisbury does seem the type to pop off at the mouth, I mean he still has yet to walk from Bristol to DC which I heard him say he'd do in '05 when asked about the Skins chances to make the playoffs late in the year.
I think Salisbury does make some good points when he's informed, however when he's not informed about something it doesn't stop him from making bad points because he likes to talk. They always go close to the edge on this segments, not sure why Salisbury went personal and Clayton looks more like the Great Gazoo than the Cryptkeeper. I had a buddy growing up who looked like the cryptkeeper, we called him the "3rd ugliest dude in the world." |

Re: Sean Salisbury vs John Clayton
As far as third rate former NFL QB's, Salisbury is great. What's Marc Wilson and Todd Blackledge up to these days?
My real question is what was the producer saying to Clayton while he was smiling on the split screen?

Re: Sean Salisbury vs John Clayton
I think I found out why Salsbury did what he did.
Suspension In the fall of 2006, Salisbury was suspended by ESPN for one week, for alleged indecent exposure [1]. A column[2] in the New York Post by Phil Mushnick on January 19, 2007 confirms the suspension. As part of the terms from returning from his suspension, John Clayton made him drink a gallon of milk in five minutes. How would you feel if someone made you drink a gallon of milk in five minutes.
