Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.
Good move...I think Buges is the heart of the current playoff team on offense...

I don't expect to see the new HC/OC blowing up the Offensive side of the ball. We DO need some change on the O line, we need help. You mentioned some great players most all I consider core guys, but I could see One MAYBE Two of those names getting traded.

Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.
Between having GW as head coach (which I wanted) and keeping Bugel as the o-line coach, I'd take Bugel in a heart beat. He's a miracle worker with the o-line - and he proved it again this year. I know things were rough for the o-line with all of our injuries, but looking back at it, I think it's actually pretty amazing that our QBs and RBs didn't simply get steamrollered down after down...

Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.
OKKKKKK...I love Joe Bugel but come on. Snyder might as well just coach the team. He's hiring all of the coaches. Snyder needs to let his new head coach do the hiring.
This is really laughable right now. Not that i care about misinformed opinions about our team but most media folks are laughing at this "process" and unfortunately i agree w/ them. |

Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.
I think its a combination...they are trying to put guys in place that a number of coaches would agree with...Mooch included

Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.
The new coach IS doing the hiring, but it is not Fassel, it's Mooch! Fassel would be hired already if it was Fassel. Snyder is interviewing Mooch Wednesday and he will be the coach. I just FEEL IT!

Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.
if they're gonna drag out the HC search so long, then at least we are locking up our best assistants and seeking others before they all get snatched up.
keep in mind, we are now the only team without a head coach. good assistants don't stay on the couch for long. we look likely to lose byner. and you can bet, if we let buges get away, he'd have a new job in a matter of days. if not hours. i say, snyder, so far so good! |

Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.
We all love Buges...
Someone said they hoped his style matches the new coach. I doubt Buges' shove it down your throat matches Mooch... This signing leans towards Fassel more if you read into it that much. Overall, Buges is one of the best Oline coaches of all time....I really dont think ANY candidate would have a problem with him.

Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.
I'm really happy with Snyder for keeping some core coaches around. A true leader at head coach will know how to work well with the coaches he has been surrounded with. Yes.....I know it’s a little unconventional, but hey lets see it take its course before we get too worked up. I would prefer thoroughness from our owner rather then the fire at the hip - big name signing, that we have become accustomed too. It is imperative that our new HC delegates and allows some of these high quality assistants the opportunity to work their magic. Let’s be honest and remember that this was Gibb’s strong suite and the reason he was so successful, as he was surrounded by great Peeps, and knew how to motivate them to be their best.

Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.
I'm glad that Buges will be back. I just hope whoever we hire as a HC is very accepting of a staff he had no input in assembling.
