Joe Bugel will return next season.

Just caught a interview with Randy Thomas on Comcast Live, he stated the Buges would return next year, he said the team was notified today of that (GREAT). He said he was very happy about that news. Other than that he didn't know anything more than we do on the coaching search.... (if he did of course he wasn't tellin).

Sorry no link, just watched it live on comcast.

Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.

This is great news. Hopefully he stays long enough to turn Heyer into a starter quality player. As well as a few 4th and 5th round guys. In my opinion nobody does more with less then Buges. I'm surprised though that hes staying with Gibbs gone and all, but if there was one guy from Gibbs staff that I wanted to keep it was Buges (That includes GW). I've said it before and I'll say it again, DC's are a dime a dozen. However position coaches that have the kind of track record that Buges has are rare.

Good move, Buges deserves a lot of credit considering all the adversity the O-line had to overcome.

Yea, I agree with ALL you guys this is a solid move in the right direction. The rest of our coaching staff so far looks like it will remain intact. I'm REALLY glad the BUGES is coming back!

If we do OK on the new HC, we might just be in pretty darn good shape here....

The more this plays out, I think GW walked away. I think he asked for to much power and $$$. Just a thought.

See. There is continuity! Now everyone who was gonna slit their wrists because there wasn't going to be any continuity can go eat crow.

1 year left on his deal right? he's one guy that can help a lot in 1 year, especially if we pick up some o linemen.
Will be good to see Buges on the sideline again, he's got a lot of fire in him.

Re: Joe Bugel will return next season.

Really, if one takes a step back and looks at the big picture, there is a lot of continuity. We all saw that writing on the wall for Saunders, but most of us agree that Zorn was a great pick up. I believe the FO has done a pretty good job with the assistant coaches.

We all have our opinions on the search for the head coach, but I don't feel THAT worried about next season. (Maybe just a little worried.)

I was definitely on that continuity boat at first. But then I thought, well.. Its the players that go out there and play. As long as we keep the core of our O and D the same, then I think thats the majority of the continuity we need. Our guys aren't stupid, I think they can adapt to new coaches and playbooks just fine.

Yeah, I'm just really concerned about the offensive side of the ball. It's kind of like trusting a total stranger to take care of your child. I really hope Zorn (and whoever the new head coach will be) won't come in and blow up the offensive side of the ball. The guys I consider core Redskins, Sellers, Cooley, Portis, Betts, Moss, Randle El, and Campbell, all need to stay. And of course, guys like Jansen, Samuels, and Thomas as well.
