Re: Top priority for the 2008 draft
I agree 100% . A DE that can play 3 downs and put pressure on the QB will make a the D much better . I think we could use a starter on the OL , we can't seem to ever make 3rd/4th and 1 . CB , Rogers and Springs are not sure things at the moment .If you hire Fassell and run the west coast ,,, we need 2 back up QB's , I doubt Collins would stay .

The game is won and lost in the trenches. When the #21 pick comes up the Skins should take the best available D or O lineman.

I picked D-Line, but we shouldn't draft just on need, but also on Best Player Available, we need help on both lines, and at line backer.

They Need That Talib Cb Outta Kansas If He Hasnt Been Taken Yet So They Can Either Move Springs To (ss) With Landry At (fs) Or Cut Springs On June First And Take The Cap Hit Over The Next Two Years. If That Corner Is Not Available Though You Gotta Gotta Gotta Pray Dereck Harvey (mark My Words) Is Gonna Be There Or Take The Best D Lineman.

Re: Top priority for the 2008 draft
I'm amazed that so few see WR as our top priority in the draft. While we surely need depth on both lines, push comes to shove we have starters and reserves for the next 2 seasons.. At WR, there is currently an opening..
Zorn is on record as saying that Randle-El is moving into the slot and he's looking for another WR for the outside. We can hope and pray that Mix is that guy, but that's a stretch considering he's been nothing more than a practice squad guy for the past 3 seasons. Other than that we're counting on Caldwell (if he re-signs), McCardell (if he re-signs) or James Thrash? Yikes. We've spent one first round pick (Campbell) on offense in the past 5 years, it's time to upgrade the WR corp.

But it really doesn't mean anything, however I do not think that there is a tall WR worth a first round selection in this years draft. |

Who would you compare Devin Thomas, Malcolm Kelly or Limas Sweed to in the NFL?

On a side note if Rogers can rehab to the level he was playing at, then he was worth the pick. If not, then it was a waste, but only because of a career ending injury. I realize of course, that you opinion differs and that Rogers hasn't done much, but even with that said, the Skins have drafted more quality DB's than WR's in the first round. |

Re: Top priority for the 2008 draft
As a general rule, its more of a guideline that I use, but who the hell am I? Of course there is always an excecption to the rule, however there is not a prospect close to that in this years draft. Braylon Edwads was the last 1st round reciever to actually impress me enough to consider breaking my rule for. Before that I cannot remember.
