Re: Lavar In 2008

I'm convinced that Lavar reads the warpath a lot & his goal is to have the all time WP record for most threads. He probably already has the most, so now he's just adding to his total by saying things to entice new threads.

He's neck-and-neck with Patrick Ramsey.

Re: Lavar In 2008

When I made this post, I listened to Lavar on Comcast, he said he might be back in 2008 and he went on to say maybe for the Redskins. He then went on to say watch Gregg Williams, he is a great coach and then again stressed watch Williams and winked into the camera. I got the feeling that he knew that Joe was going to retire and Williams was taking over. I believe that Williams already told Lavar that he wanted him back, if he could play. I wish I would have said this when I first made this post, but this has me convinced he will play for us again.

I also heard that there were TWO shooters on the grassy knoll and the U.S. Government has been housing aliens from Mars for fifty years. Oh, and the moon landing never happened.

I've never seen someone infer so much from a wink.

Ive said ealier in this post that Id love to have him back. I was to depressed to watch the entire Comcast Post Game Live Show.

As soon I heard about Joe steping down, my second thought was "well there goes the chance Lavar ever comes back" being my first thought was that GW would be the most likely to take over as coach.

I thought GW and Lavar hated each other. Did they make up or somthing?

Re: Lavar In 2008

I know this is a stretch...but I'm pretty confident that my source here is reliable.

I know someone (an orthopedic surgeon) who knew the guy working on Lavar's knee.

He said there was virtually no chance of him making a comeback, and that if he did, he wouldn't be close to the player he was in his prime. He's gone. Please give up...

If Williams' priority is to bring back a self-serving prima donna with bad joints all over...then we need to make sure we find someone else to run the team

And I knew a guy who had a kidney disease but still ended up playing through it in the NBA. Alonzo Mourning..

Heck there were tons of people who overcame injuries and adversity to make an impact in sports.

John Lester BoSox - Cancer
Sean Elliott SA Spurs - Kidney Transplant
Grant Hill - Numerous surgery on ankle
Lance Armstrong - Cancer

So... in essence all those people who say that Arrington's Knee is shot.. give me proof. Find me a website or a direct quote from a reliable source that says that Arrington's Knee gone and cannot play in the NFL. Anyone????

So for those critics and gossipers that love to pretend to know everything about every single damn player... stop giving out false info... because that is only your opinion and not based on facts.

I personally would like to see Lavar back on the field just to laugh at all the haters and doubters.

Oh what is that famous quote from Adidas?.. OH RIGHT!

IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING

Lavar's best chance of contributing to the franchise in the future is to feed the fans some good grub.

Best of luck in the restaurant business, Lavar. Hopefully you'll handle yourself differently than you did as a football player, or those health inspectors you defy (coaches) will get you shut down and locked up.

If you really want proof get on the Capital beltway (495) and go to the Rt 50 exit ....and over on the lefthand side of the road you'll see were Lavar left the rest of whatever good knees he had after crashing his motorcycle last spring. His knees are bad ,he tore his achilles tendon and mess up what was left of both legs in an accident.................fact!!!:smashfrea

P.S.........stop drinking all the rice whine!!!

Re: Lavar In 2008

I guess I can't argue with you redksinz79. Anything could happen.

It's just highly improbable, and for the sake of logical argument.... It's not even worth discussing. He's proven well beyond reasonable doubt that he can no longer perform at the pro level.

When (I can't believe I'm still putting effort into a Lavar thread... but I digress) a player who's sole strength was that he was a physical freak of nature... it leaves you with weaknesses. He would leap over offensive lines. He would terrorize you with his athleticism. It made you cringe to watch him fly across the field and hit with the kind of passion that you rarely see. He was the total package physically, and therein lies his flaw.

He's been called virtually uncoachable by incredibly respected head coaches. He's thrown Joe Gibbs under the bus. He's ostracized himself from the entire Redskins organization. He's never fully grasped an NFL scheme mentally... and always has been known as a free lancer. My point here Redkinz79 is that while your right that by some freak miracle healing he could come back to compete; He will never... ever, ever be in anywhere near the shape he was in his prime.

He will not be the predator. He will be a mediocre (at the very best) linebacker that makes slow reads... and no longer has the freakish physical abilities to compensate for them.

Can you argue that Lavar might come back? Sure...

But to even hint at the fact that he could somehow play a role comparable to his first stint is insane. His strengths are plagued by injuries, and it's as if his brilliance physically caused any football smarts he had to atrophy, because he just didn't need them... until now.

So please... for the love of God... let's not bring up Lavar ever again.
