If I am Detroit I am on the phone with Miami right now to try to pick up Dante.

if I'm the raiders i make the trade for Culpepper. even if he is injured, he is still better then anything they have right now

I've said it before and this is just speculation on my part, but I still wouldn't put it past the Pats to sign Daunte.

Trent Green has the awarness and pocket presence pick our defense apart, just like in 2005. (although we lost that game more cause of turnovers than anything else) But this has me having a mixed feeling. This trade will make it a better game, but this now gives Miami a better chance at winning it.
Also recall he's coming off a major injury last year, he's with a team that does NOT have Larry Johnson. He's with a team that also doesn't have Gonzo OR the type of offensive line he had in Kansas City. I'm not too worried about Green OR that receiving corps down in Miami.

Yes, but he does have a better recieving squad minus the TE. Also, his defense is a lot better, all I am saying I would rather play against Cleo Lemon or Daunte than Trent Green.

I would tend to agree, but really Chambers is the only one I worry about. More than anything, I can see our first game being a truly defensive battle barring our offense REALLY exploding like it's supposed to be doing.

Nothing would make me happier than putting up like 30+ points on opening day. It seems like EVERY FREAKING opening day is down to the wire for me. For once, I'd just like a nice drubbing so I can enjoy my buzz.

Yes, Chris Chambers is one to worry about, but this is also our first test against an above average running back in Ronnie Brown. What will our run defense look like. Who will be guarding Ted Ginn? (assuming he is 100 percent.) Because it seems that our defense is very suspect to fast recievers at times, Also, Trent Green is like a better Brad Johnson who beat us in the opener last year. He is a game manager, he does what needs to be done and more importantly he DOESN'T make mistakes, just like Brad Johnson. So that is what worries me, his game managment skills, and ability to frustrate defenses by not making mistakes and converting on 3rd down like he is supposed to.

Re: Dolphins and Chiefs Finalize Trent Green Trade

if we start playing the aggressive defense that we have had before, Trent Green is one good shot away from retirement

They may have better receivers but Miami's o-line is an extremely pale comparison to KC's. He won't have time to pick anything but his ass off the ground.

Another ex Redskin QB to start against us on opening day. We can't allow another 36 yr. old QB to spoil our season opener.

PS Quake, think about all the time you spend defending yourself !!!...You could start a few more threads j/k.

This is true if the Skins can provide a pass rush this year. If Green has time then it could be lights out for the Skins. I'll be there though.

I think Green already took the shot that SHOULD have forced him into retirement week 1 last year vs the Bengals. I think G.Williams is gonna throw the house at him right away to give him happy feet and make him nervous. Mark my words, if we get to him early and get that crowd into it, it's gonna be a loooong day for the Fins. My prediction- Wash 24 Miami 10. Green hasn't worked with Cam Cameron for a over a decade and he only has a few months to get acquainted with the offense and a brand new team with a brand new coach. I can't wait. And I'll be there!

At least their o-line is young and won't have faced any live bullets yet. I'd rather see Culpepper or whoever back there, but at least its game 1.
