Just like someone else pointed out, they have shown more of him stopping the run. From what I've read, he's better at run stopping. If he can stop the pass as well as everyone thinks, then I'll be happy. I just fear another 06.

Don't rule out Fletcher making our defense more stout against the run and commanding it the way Pierce did. I think you are going to see a big time improvement immediately.
I actually REALLY like Fletcher. He is familiar with Williams system, and still has some gas in the tank...but how much gas? He is pretty old.

We'll have to make that decision later on regarding Anderson Okoye vs Landry. Again you're comparing a four year productive starter (Landry) to a one year wonder (Anderson) and a 19-year old child (Okoye) who didn't play high school football. Rest assured Snyder will bolster the DL and LB corps before long.

The greatest thing is that now we have some stability and not a roundabout Stoutmire, Prioleau gig.
Not to sound too negative...but AA was an all pro before being teamed up with Taylor. AA was the real deal. There is a reason why commanded the highest salaried contract for a safety ever. Like I said. I think Landry is one heck of a talent...I think you guys are missing that in my comments...what I am thinking is he won't gel with Taylor.
Clark was nothing special, but his style of play worked perfectly with Taylor. The coaches weren't willing to work with AA to get him to where they needed him, I hope they don't make the same mistake with Landry.

That is my utmost concern...so what do you think the Skins have up their sleeves? I am not confident in our DLine at all right now. In fact, I feel they rank right around the worst in all the league.

There is obviously nothing I can do about the fact that we picked Landry, except HOPE that we can turn him into what we need...
If we can start Golston, we probably would start either of them. Maybe people are enamored by Landry's tackling highlights but he has pass coverage stats too... 12INTs 22PBUs in four years in the SEC.

Nothing up the sleeves. Snyder has money in his pockets.

Like I said...I hope you're right. We need a good pass defender there. If he can fit that bill, then I'm fine.

Problem is, NFL will limit those pockets. We only have 4-5mil in cap space, and now we have to sign a #6 overall pick which will cut into that. We won't have a lot of room to get a good DE. Really, I'm fine with Carter, and fine with Griffin. Golston...not so sure, and Wynn and Daniels NEED to go. So if we can somehow find a solid DE to replace them, I think we'll be fine.

I think he has a full tank. Tryin to think of the last time he missed a game? Ol yea...NEVER.

This defense will improve, just like the Dr. ordered, this year just with the moves we have made to this point. If we get healthy bodies back look out we will be right back where we were in 05 or BETTER.

I have a friend that is a Bills fan, and he says Fletcher is not the same...he's losing steps. I have to admit, I don't think I saw a single Bills game last year, so I really don't know. Like I said, I like fletcher, I hope he still has some left in the tank...I hope it's "full" like you say.

Of course it will improve. I think we have close to the best secondary in the league now...but if the QB is given all day to throw, it won't matter.
