Re: Carlos Rogers catches an INT?!
I'm not worrying about player comments to the media, but they definitely are important and they do have an affect on many things, including, as I stated before, relationships with fans, coaches, their team, front office and opposing teams. Examples players who have made comments to the media that have had a negactive impact on some of the relationships just mentioned include, Tiki Barber, Michael Strahan, Jeremy Shockey, TO, Randy Moss, Freddie Mitchel running has mouth to Rodney Harrison before the Super Bowl, etc. You don't think Lavar was a extra pumped up when Springs made the comment about how he didn't know the playbook?

Re: Carlos Rogers catches an INT?!
Wasn't this around the time last year that Carlos finally got his first INT? Maybe it takes him until December of each season to realize he should catch a ball or two. I say that next season the whole stadium starts singing "Jingle Bells" during the opening game; maybe that will get him in the mood for some INTs.

Re: Carlos Rogers catches an INT?!
That first quarter I wanted to KILL him. I wanted them to fire him on the spot, right there, on the field!!!!!!! He was running like he had cement in his shoes, and it made me question if he was getting paid to get beat. I was so pissed off... then he comes out second half and plays like he's paid to. I can only hope that Williams threatened him with his life during half time.

Re: Carlos Rogers catches an INT?!
I think Rogers managed to make a case for him not being fired and shipped to the CFL after this season. He has yet to really prove he can handle being a #1 or #2 corner in this league, but this is a start.
He actually caught that INT the SECOND time - it bounced off his chest first and then fell into his hands, at which point he bobbled it for a while before deciding to really go ahead and make the catch.

Re: Carlos Rogers catches an INT?!
We'd be in great shape with Carlos Rogers as the nickel corner.
That's why I maintain the Redskins are probably 2 years minimum away from having a top ten defense again. We need to do what the Eagles did in 2002 when they needed secondary help (not to mention Spurrier was coming to town with his Fun n' Gun) -- they drafted Lito Sheppard in the 1st round, then took Michael Lewis and Sheldon Brown with their two #2 picks -- all DBs. Unfortunately, we don't have that compliment of draft picks. Again, we're 2+ years from having a formidable D. |

Re: Carlos Rogers catches an INT?!
Los needs to stop playing so far back on the receivers 95% of the time. He needs to be more physical on those receivers coming off of the line of scrimage. Also, he needs to play more catch on the side lines. Hey, ask Brunell to throw you some balls, he's not doing too much these days.
