Still preseason rember.. wins here mean nothing and also rember Gibbs and co are running a more vanilla offence to judge individual performances.

Actually, I expect a huge year from TO. And from McNabb who finally has a legitimate #1 receiver to throw to. When the games count, it won't be one bomb then no more TO receptions. The Eagles' offense is greatly improved (but now they desparately need a short-yardage RB to show up). The way we will beat the Eagles this year is with our offense, through the air. They are going to score. But their defense has gone WAY south, and can be beaten badly with the pass. And the Redskins are just the guys to do it!!

The hater-aid sure is flowing today huh?
Who wouldn't want a playmaker like Owens? Sure he's a problem child, but can anyone question that the Eagles WR corps are significantly better with TO?? His presence is really going to open things up for the TE's and other WR's. I'm not at all happy to see him in the NFC East, especially with no more Champ. |

The pressure is all on McNabb now. Especially with Staley gone and Buckhalter out now. Yeah, Owens is great and he'll definitely take the pressure off of Mitchell, Pinkston, and their TE (can't remember the name right now) but McNabb has had the benefit of people saying "well he doesn't have any receivers" for the past few years. Now he doesn't have that excuse, so let's see what happens.
At some point, I can see TO complaining to McNabb. Once he realizes that his QB back in San Fran, Jeff Garcia, is a much more accurate passer.

Yes, Smith looks VERY promising. Right now all the depth charts still show Chad Lewis holding the starting spot, but that is probably like the Redskins' charts showing Sean Taylor 2nd...

By the way, I agree he acts like a jerk - but he does perform.

Jeez, Sunra, I agree with you about the jumping ship bit, but your other statements SURE don't sound like a Redskin fan. Not sure where you were coming from with that stuff.

if you've seen the camps you've seen portis run. so far every run has been up the gut, and he's had very limited touches to break one... i have no doubts he's better than S davis as an RB, but i have no ill feelings towards davis myself, and i think he found a perfect fit in carolina.

Slightly off topic here but I really hate it when you hear about a team that's one key injury away from a losing season. That's such a generic statement, seriously, doesn't that apply to nearly every team?? Every team has a guy or two that they couldn't afford to lose.
Sunra, Portis has put up back to back 1500 yard seasons, I think he's more than proven himself at the NFL level. Sounds like you're ready to write him off after 2 meaningless preseason games. |
