Re: Gears of War Released Today

I can't wait to play GoW tommorow but I also can't wait for Call of Duty 3 tommorow as well. Rainbow six looks phenominal as well, but don't sleep on Lost Planet in January.

and as far as killer aps, this will easily sell 360's but so 2 in ways were Elder Scrolls and Dead Rising.

Man I don't know about anyone else getting Gears but I gotta get have my first kill come by chainsaw.

from what we saw of it a month ago, I would consider it a melding of Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter, Halo, and Resident Evil 4. from 1st hand expirience this game is just absolutely incredible and deserving of every bit of hype.

Re: Gears of War Released Today

i'm looking towards supreme commander (new total annihilation RTS), and UT2007 (of course)

I'm definitely checking out lost planet and the new black isle game (KOTORish thing).

GoW kinda seems like half life 2 - some great moments, shiny new engine, done with it about halfway through... of course, the only FPS's i've liked lately are UT2004 and CoD2. jerrys!

OK...I got to play the game last night for a little bit. Ladies and gentlemen, this game is INCREDIBLE! The graphics are the best I have ever seen on a video game. The 5.1 surround sound shakes the windows and is very well done. While I am not a third person shooter kinda guy, this game is very well done and is BY FAR the best title to hit the X360. All the reviews are dead on, this game is excellent. If you have a 360, go get this game!!!!!

yeah, kinda sucks, but most people didn't get it today. There was a shipping error in the area and most of us won't be seeing it until tomorrow.

All I can say is that it's worth the wait. If you like good graphics, good sound, and solid gameplay all in one - this one tips the scale.

Agreed 100%. This is probably the most realistic shooter I've ever played. The use of cover, the camera work, and the physics are on par with, or better than any other shooter. It feels like a real firefight, instead of just running and gunning. I'd recommend it to anyone that's a fan of FPS or TPS games, and even fans of stealth shooter will like it.

The AI of your squad is a little shakey, but they can handle themselves for the most part. It's a lot better to play in co op mode, since you can use more complicated tactics.

Oh... the chainsaw bayonet is friggin ridiculous...

I love the game. We need to have a Warpath battle on Xbox live one of these evenings.

Nothing is quite as realistic as laser rifles, chainsaw bayonets and outerspace-zombie-aliens.

I was actually talking about the game physics and the need to find cover, blind fire, flank the enemy, cover fire, and use teamwork to be successful. Not the actual weapons and enemies...
