JC stands for Jason Campbell, not Jesus Christ.

In case anyone thought we had a savior on the bench, we don't. We have a project (who I hope will be a great player one day).

I am so happy we got Troy Vincent.

Maybe that can put some pressure on Adam Abercrombie.

And yes... he looks just like one of those models. That's what he should be.

And when will that "one day" ever come? Do we have to completely destroy this season before Campbell's day arrives? No, he's not a savior, but I do believe the offense won't be any worse with him behind center than it is with Brunell. In fact it will be better because, unlike Brunell, he has a strong arm and may actually be able to consistently complete passes downfield. Of course, as long as he's only allowed to hold a clipboard, we'll never know the answer to that question, will we? On the other hand, we already know the answer to the question - can Brunell lead us to the SB?

he also brings a degree of speed and athleticism not present in brunell since the mid 90's...

I don't care what motivates him, as long as he gets motivated. He is getting a bad rap from everyone because he is being forced to do what he's not best at, and that is drop into coverage a lot. He is better suited in run support, closer to the line of scrimmage. He's never been a great cover guy, hell he is a former linebacker. If our cornerbacks ever get healthy enough, he can go back to what he does best. In the mean time everyone out there is trying to pick up the slack of others due to injuries mostly.

Re: Now it makes sense...

That's a good point. If Peirson "Pralines and Cream" hadn't have had that devestating, career-ending collision on the first play of the season, we'd probably be 7-0 right now.

Yes. 7-0.

Because we'd win by so much, the NFL would award us with another win.

see, thats what people seem to forget. at least the brunell apologists do. does anyone really think wed take a step back? sure, campbell mgiht not manage the game as well as brunell, but what he lacks in experience, he sruely makes up for in raw athleticism.

You got that sh*t right! You can learn game management skills. This guy is a phenominal athlete. That bazooka he has will surely cause all the doubters to forget that over the hill ass Mark Brunell! HAIL from MCUSA!

You are 100% right. And I blame GW and the other defensive coaches for trying to make players be something they are not. It would be the same as if your boss, knowing you are best at writing news articles for the paper, suddenly assigns you to designing ad copy for the paper. Of course you're going to struggle, and probably fail, because that's not your strong suit. GW knew what AA's skills and weaknesses were before they signed him. They shouldn't be surprised that he struggles in coverage. Against the Jags, he was playing closer to the line and had one of his better games. This probably wouldn't even be such an issue, were it not for the injuries to our CBs.

There's one thing I will say in Arch's defense, he has been a man about his misgivings, he's been the first to admit he's not playing well. That's more than I can say for some of our defenders who offer up nothing but excuses for their dreadful play.

Agreed. Also, the reason he's one of the leading tacklers is that the opponents are getting past the front defensive 7 as if they're not even there, and that's not a good sign.

Some on this board have been relentless in trying to pinpoint 1 or 2 players to blame for the team's woes when, in fact, most of the players are playing far below their potential. And that's a much harder pill to swallow. It's much easier to convince yourself that if 1 player were benched, all would be fine, but that's hardly the truth about this team.
