Re: defense
Our defense is an embarassment. I would trade Carter and Archuletta for a bag of chips right now.
I can't believe that a GW defense looks this bad. Guess what, now we get the Colts! |

Re: defense
Holdman tackles like Rogers covers, if Mcintosh can't beat Holdman out at this point then what's the point. I have a hard time believing we wouldn't be better with Rocky in there, and if we actually are not we can chalk up another wasted pick.
As for Carlos "the cushion" Rogers I get the feeling he needs to be up on the reciever and press him man to man on the line of scrimmage, the guy is lost when he's left to react after the WR has a head of steam, Rogers is physical enough to handle almost any reciever, personally he looks and hits more like a saftey than a corner but I don't know if he has the instinkts for saftey. Man oh man who's idea was it to get rid of Clark for AA, talk about overpaying for a downgrade? As for Carter I hate to say it but his pass rushing skills remind me an awful lot of Arringtons, if someone is in front of him he can't get around him, no pass rushing moves to speak of. |

Re: defense
I knew we were in trouble when they said Griff and big Joe were both out. Golston and Montgomery have looked promising, but two rookies starting inside is a big concern no matter who they are. The Titans knew this and attacked accordingly. Meanwhile we got all cute with these WR handoffs instead of just pouding the ball like they did to us.

Re: defense
our defense is broken at every level.
our Dline was not improved one bit by getting Carter, even at 'full strength'. that's even considering i think Golston could actually be an upgrade to Salave'a. Warrick is smart, seems to be wherever the play is, he's just not tackling well. the whole LB corps. has missed critical tackles lately. the secondary? where do i start? while it was WRONG to stay so dependent on a 31 yr. corner, it was also wrong to bring in 3 DBs who hadn't developed any chemistry in what was once an established defense. people still question Ryan Clark, but i think its clear how he complemented ST now.

Re: defense
I'm actually starting to think differently about Andre Carter. I've seen his number around the QB quite a bit lately and in the last 3 games has had 2 sacks and a number of QB pressures. I don't think the jury has returned the verdict on him just yet.

Re: defense
Carter's not half bad, but AA is a fucking chump, and I think we all knew that coming into this season, we just didnt wanna believe it. Our secondary is fucking swiss cheese, period.

I know this is cheesy, but you just reminded me of a game of Madden I was playing the other day. I was playing a team with a crappy D (make Tenn, but I can't remember) and I was trying to get all fancy with the play calls and I kept turning it over or having to settle for long passes on 3rd down. Finally I decided enough was enough and I started using the I formation and pounded the ball inside. Eventually the PA fakes opened back up and it was back to running up the score like normal. So I got Ozzie his brandy glass filled with brown M&Ms and he went on stage and had a great show.
