Re: Burgundy Army: Gameplanning for the NY Giants
I agree that the O-line is the key to this game. I think the counter gap could work to either side. I also like the fact that Saunders has been running out of three and four wide sets. There is no reason that that wouldn't work against N.Y. as well. . Pass wise, I like flair control with Cooley, Fauria, and Sellars to slow down the ends. I might also try the Go Route with LLoyd. Whoever guards him is bound to be the dregs, right? And if he can get COMPLETELY behind the defense, he doesn't have to worry about getting hit.
On an off the wall note, I look for Ade Jimoh to make a big play in this game, somewhere, somehow. You can only keep him down so long. Lastly, let's hope that the weather is nice. 20 mile winds could really help them because it might limit our passing game. I would guess that Eli would be less affected by wind than Mark B. Also, Hall into a strong Meadowlands wind (the one that blows right to left across your radio dial) would not be dependable beyond 35 or 40 yards.

Re: Burgundy Army: Gameplanning for the NY Giants
This hasn't really gotten much press, but is anyone else as worried as I am about Randy Thomas's hamstring injury. He said that by the end of the Jags came he couldn't pull any more so they were only running up the middle and/or pulling from the left side w/Dockery.
Thomas is one of if not the best pulling guards in the league, and if he can't move out quickly, our rushing attack will be limited (I was going to say hamstrung, but that was too cheesy even for me). Any word on this injury? He's listed as probably for the game, but he's still on the injury report which means he is still getting treatment for the problem. |

I think if he can play then it is only a strain. Of course a strain can turn into a pull real quick so I think they'll be carefull with him in the play calling.

I had no idea that Thomas was knicked. That does kind of suck. Hopefully that clears up!

Re: Burgundy Army: Gameplanning for the NY Giants
i don't think it was major, and thomas has been the most consistant and solid (and fastest) guy on that line, so i'd expect him to be ready to go.
