Re: Ladell Betts is he worthy of praise?

Quick question since we're on the topic of running backs, is anyone else here having the HUGE man-crush that it seems everyone on ES is having? I've seen like 10 separate threads devoted to him making the team. They have something against Betts and Cartwright?

I'm guessing you're talking about Lumsden?

People just love the unknown.

HAHA! Yeah, forgot to put his name, but you definitely knew exactly who I was talking about. I mean they act like Betts hasn't been a MORE than effective backup.

How does Lumsden make this team?

As third TB? Over Rock? I can't see it. Unless this guy turns out to be the next Riggins.

I agree there's no way Lumsden makes the team unless there's an injury to anyone ahead of him.

Betts is firmly entrenched as the #2. Rock the #3. Both are valuable special teams guys.

Lumsden's chances are slim to none.

Exactly. Who was the great unknown last year that everyone was so hyped about?

Ahhhh, indeed. That's a pretty funny picture. I can definitely remember touching myself to that man's physique thinking he was the next great Skins linebacker.

Regardless, that man's bicep is bigger than my torso.

I cant even think of who that guy is, Who is he? I'm naming him "The Bone Crusher" your right he is huge I would think he would be a beast out there. But I do love our backs, I started this thread b/c outsiders were hyping up Betts slightly more than what I think he would be worth to other teams. With us having rock right behind him we def. have guys who can get the job done. In fact Rock is really who I root for and would like to see him with good fortune and have great games out of. Each one of them have yet to reach their heights of potential and are still young , I hope we they would enjoy finishing their careers in DC.

On a side note, I have got to get one of those water dispensers.

Yup, we all did. To his credit, he DOES play Special Teams and is fairly beastly. He just blows up blockers.

Wow he is gigantic(McCune). Nemo-there just doesnt seem to be room for him. I cant be excited about him b/c preseason isnt such a good gadge to show your talent. I dont see him making any noise.

Without starting a new thread one of my favorite underrated guys is by far my man, Mike Sellers. He has the heart and power to be our "Alscot". Coming from a Community College he was a long shot to make it in the league and now I see him having a long career and being recognized around the league as one of the top fullbacks. Just another guy defenses better not ignore if he slips out of the backfield. He will be one of the guys I look forward to meeting at training camp this year. He derserves a pound for the respect he has earned. Welcome to the greatest show on turf. Coming soon to a stadium near you.

sellers was never a long shot for the nfl. he just got messed up on his transcript to college and had to help his family or some such. youngest player to ever play in cfl i believe (at 19), so he was pretty well regarded.
