Re: Taylor's trial likely to be postponed again

In Coach Williams' interview, he mentions that he is aware of many things behind the scene that even reporters do not know and that at the end of the day, there will be a lot of apologies (to Taylor). He is 100 percent certain that Sean Taylor will be playing this fall. So whatever the situation is in Miami-Dade county, it doesn't seem to be bothering Gregg Williams.

The only way he can know anything for sure is if he was there ,I think all that will happen is 400 hours of talking to kids maybe pick up some trash on the road and pay 1 million to someone .

How's that? If he's convicted of what he's been charged with there is a mandatory minimum of 3 years for each count. And this is a criminal case, not a civil case......so where does the 1 million come from?

If he's innocent, he'll get off free and clear..........but if he's found guilty, there's nothing anyone can do about the sentence starting at 3 years and going up from there.

Re: Taylor's trial likely to be postponed again

My attorney told me one time, "In the legal system, the only people that pay, are those that cannot afford to". Sage wisdom! Maybe worse than that, the punishment these guys get is signifigantly better than my life.
I must admit however, dude raising a sack of cash for charity probably serves more good than kickin' cans down the road on a chain gang.

And there's still no way $1 million gets worked into a criminal plea bargain.

Re: Taylor's trial likely to be postponed again

The plea bargain they rejected still had him pleading to a felony, I think. That's still WAY too much to plead to here, if things are as shaky for the state as they appear.

Misdemeanor suspended sentence is what they're waiting for, but they may feel they have a strong enough case to win it in court no matter what, and they want to vindicate Sean. We'll see. Man, I wish it would go away already.

Re: Taylor's trial likely to be postponed again

Damn right.

Honestly, I wish this thing would just get over because honestly, if it makes it to the season, they'll just postpone it until after the season.

Maybe they're waiting on all key witnesses to die of old age.
