Re: Steal of the draft:

Matt Leinart- best QB in the draft and would have been number 1 overall if he came out as a junior. could have been number one this year too in my opinion. but none of the top teams needed a QB. Still though, cant believe he fell to number 10 when oakland or detroit or buffalo could have gotten him.
Also cant believe young was selected before him especially with norm chow on the team

i liked ingle martin and think he was a quality pickup. GBs draft could have been so much better if they got chad jackson instead of greg jennings though.

Dolphins | Still undetermined if R. Wright will need surgery
Sun, 30 Apr 2006 18:32:31 -0700

Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban said DL Rodrique Wright (shoulder) was told by a doctor that he may need surgery. Saban added, "When we bring him in, we are going to examine him beyond what was done at the combine to determine the extent of his injury and make a determination then as to what the best procedure is. He can continue to play with this and we can do it later. I think if he continues to play with it, he is going to continue to do damage and eventually it is not going to repair correctly." It is not known how much time he would miss if he did have surgery, but Saban said there could be a point in time during the 2006 season where Wright would come back and play.

explains some of the fall, but not all of it.

I think the rest is character/effort related.

Re: Steal of the draft:

Lindell White, Darryl Tapp, Taitusi Lutui, Leonard Pope, Maurice Stovall, Elvis Dummerville, Jeff King (whom we should have taken with the 5th round pick), Cedric Humes and Chad Jackson were all pretty good steals, but the biggest steal has to be Lienart especially given the offensive weapons he's going to have around him from the get go.

i dunno how much of a steal lienart was but i think he was luckier to be drafted by AZ than AZ was to get him. he coulda gone to BUF or TEN neither team seems to be working on building their teams (jp losman is trash and the titans have like a 10 man roster after releasing 1/2 the starting lineup last year) i think buf and ten were the reggie bush draft losers. They sucked soo bad last year to try to get reggie but just didn't suck like houston or NO.

I see him as a steal as he is the closest thing to nfl ready right out of the gates among the top 3 qbs taken and the fact that Arizona only has to give a player who would have been the #1 draft pick last year pick#10 money.

I honestly don't know why so many people r down on leinart but we'll see in a few years who was right about the picks.

Well, we drafted Chip Lohmiller in the second round in 1988 out of Minnesota. I guess a kicker like Ali Haji-Shiek makes any team pretty desperate.

Re: Steal of the draft:

Oops, my bad...any way he's a steal, he was projected as a first day pick. Here lately we've been turning undrafted linebackers into reliable starters. I like his instincts and think he could be better than McIntosh. He has good speed at 4.65 but plays alot faster. Needs to hit the wheights, but thats not unusual for guys coming out of UCLA (they must have the worste training staff).

Re: Steal of the draft:

Chad Jackson. I know most Fla. WRs are busts (except for D. Jack), but I just can't believe a guy with his size, speed, and hands fell into the second round. NE just filled any void left by Givens leaving.

To me, it has to be Bush - when he fell to New Orleans.
