I like the "dirty" player persona. That is why he is feared.

He's going to ask for a lot espacially after looking at archuletas contract.
He deserves a lot and will get it. They broke the mold on him.

Re: Sean Taylor

I see that Archuletas contract is for like $30 mill and Seans is for $17 mill, but isnt the only guaranteed money in any contract is the signing bounus? If thats the case, then ST is getting like $11 mill, as opposed to AA's $6 mill guaranteed.

I agree that ST needs his contract re-done, and we need to lock him up long term, truely make him a Redskin 4-LIFE!!!

He just needs to be tought its "REDSKINS LIFE", not "THUG LIFE"!!!

Signing boni is the only thing guarenteed on signing, yes. But roster bonuses due before the start of the season are generally considered guarenteed by the media.

Re: Sean Taylor

rodney harrison is probably the closest thing to ST... that fear thing really seems to help in coverage... that and shoving elbows into people's necks on special teams plays .

Ok, even with roster bounuses included, ST is around $13.045million. Where AA is at $6million. So ST is guaranteed twice as much as AA. These numbers come from our cap sheets on the home page...

Like I said we need to get ST shored up fo sho!!!

I don't know the details & haven't looked at those #s, but as I recall ST wanted to renegotiate because he signed an incentive laden deal (not a lot of guaranteed $) & many around the league commented on what a "bad" deal it was, especially Kellen Winslow Sr. & the postons, who referred to it because Jr. was picked right after ST by the browns

It is incentive laden due to the fact that if he makes the Pro-Bowl he gets $9mill, but that incentive or one like it is in just about any rookie contract. He is still guaranteed $13+mill just because of his signing bonus, then he gets what ever his salary is for that year also. If you look at the cap sheets, Taylor's cap salary is $4.73mill for this year, howeve his base salary is $425k. His signing bounus is $2.095mill and his other bounus is $2.210mill. Which comprises his total salary, so this year alone ST is almost going to make what AA is guaranteed...

Re: Sean Taylor

I may not be right here, but I also think that he wanted to renegotiate his contract because $13mill isnt really that much for a #5 overall draft pick as far as guaranteed $$ goes...

Re: Sean Taylor

Well, I know Rosenhaus isn't exactly a popular figure as of late, but he's always gotten really good deals done with the skins.
