The skins have proved that they are the best in the division with respect to fielding a quality team week in and week out in spite of injuries. Now, we have great depth at WR,DE,RB,QB,TE. With each other team, you can lose one guy and be seriously wounded (TO, Manning, McNabb). I just don't see that as the case in DC.
I pretty much agree with your post, however, I think that people are overvaluing Betts and Rock. I think that this team would be in big trouble if Portis ever went down. I hope that he doesn't and if he does, I hope I'm wrong, but I don't know if they can win without CP.

I think that this team could win with Betts for a game or two, but I'm saying what if Portis were to miss 5 or 6 games, then I think we'd be in real trouble. Just like pretty much any other in the league, but I just don't think that Betts can come in and carry the load for long.

If we did lose CP, like most teams who lose a player of that caliber will not be the same, but that does not mean that Ladell, and "Tha Roc, Tha, Tha ROC" cant fill in marveously if our qb is able to still get the ball downfield. It could even throw a few teams off due to not knowing whats comming (althought I hope no team gets this opportunity to scout w/out CP)... Think of the Seahawks without Sean Alexander.... They would never win a big game if he's gone right? :-) sorry dont know how to insert those neat-o inserts.. I'm ol' school homies!!!!

Re: Sean Salisbury

Salisbury has time and time again proven he has as much skill picking the best teams as he did playing qb which is as close to being zero without actually being zero and this is just another example of that. The NFL has proven time and time again that one great player does not make an average to below average team into a SB contender/champion ie Barry Sanders, Randy Moss, Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, John Elway until Terrel Davis, and so on and so forth. Most of the intelligent "experts" have the skins and giants duking it out for the top spot and adding TO doesn't do anything to cover up their defensive weaknesses or the fact that Bledsoe doesn't get the 5 to 7 seconds he normally needs to make a good throw on anything even close to a regular basis.

I know I for one see Parcells or Bledsoe and TO getting into a fistfight before the cowpies actually come close to stepping up to the level of the real SB contenders.

Re: Sean Salisbury

if they had key and TO then maybe they would be much better but TO instead of Keyshaun isn't going to change anything that would warrent them winning the beast. They are the team that scored 7 points and we are still the team that scored 35. They are not even in the same league as us as of now. The best new addition to the beast has been al saunders. we are better than that 35 point performance now and they are only slightly better. **** DALLAS and **** GAY SALISBERRY. His picks mean nothing. He was so sure the skins wouldn't be in the playoffs last year that he said he would take that walk and he never did. He is a joke. He thinks if he calls all the people that disagree with him stupid or babies that he has won. ****ing bitch. I can't believe this is all it takes to be a top ESPN analyst in this country. d

The first sentence in that post is pretty much my point. The team will be different without CP. IMO, that would mean that we were in trouble. The offense is more on his shoulders than anyone else's I don't know if Betts and/or Rock can handle that. I'm not saying they're bad backs, all I'm saying is that if Portis went down, I don't know if they could get it done for an extended period of time.

Re: Sean Salisbury

I like it when the media says we will finish in the cellar - I hope the other teams believe it too. It's better than being the team everyone is shooting to knock off.

Although I doubt players are watching Salisbury on ESPN and thinking, "Salisbury has the Redskins finishing last? That is the last time I take the Redskins seriously. When a guy as impressive as Salisbury says something, you take it as gospel, nqa."
