Re: Ramsey Rumor Thread
From a Jets' message board...
NBC 4 of Wash D.C. -George Michaels reports Jet's deal to send Abraham to Washington is "100% bogus". He said the Redskins lost interest when they signed A.Carter. He said he was told this by the Redskins front office. |

I think Michaels is right. I couldn't really understand why we would bring Abraham onboard now.

KFFL: Miami released Gus to avoid paying a roster bonus.
Before Culpepper and Brees came on the market, they had Ramsey in their sights. Backing up Culpepper could turn into a starting role for Patrick. The Dolphins might part with a five or a six to acquire the last year of his contract. |

Re: Ramsey Rumor Thread
without gus, the phins are suddenly back in the market.
abraham for a 2nd and a 1st is total BS, NO ONE would even conider that deal. he'll be released sooner or later (they can't franchise him again after this year). not to mention it'd kill our cap and possibly cost us the ability to fill our remaining holes (and JA isn't the world's best guy either). |

It would surprise me if the Dolphins would release Gus without somebody lined up to replace him. The Bengals are looking at Jamie Martin. The only word on Daunte's progress comes from Daunte who says he's rehabbing way ahead of schedule. I haven't read anything about Palmer. |

Re: Ramsey Rumor Thread
What is to become of Ramsey....it doesn't seem like there is much of a market for him....is he gonna be released or our we still holding out for some kind of compensation...also why couldnt we have just kept him....is Collins really any better for us...or is it just that he [Ramsey] wont shut up about starting...it seems to me he was still a goof fit for us.....maybe a bit jittery in the pocket but is Collins any better?

Re: Ramsey Rumor Thread
ESPN's Clayton is still saying that the Jets' offered of a 7th round choice for Ramsey but the Skins wanted a fourth.
Abraham was last reported visiting Seattle. Atlanta is a possible landing place for him but the Jets want Shaub and Atlanta needs him. When Culpepper can start is unknown. Miami reportedly is working only on Daunte's description of his progress. I think Ramsey is willing to go anywhere for the final year of his contract, but he's not going to sign an extension unless it's someplace where he has a chance to start and be successful. And, without that extension, his trade value is minimal. But Miami could use him as Daunte insurance for a year. |

From the ES site...
David Elfin of the Washington Times today reported Skins involved in trade talks with Jets last night. Patrick to the Jets for a sixth plus a future (no number mentioned). |

Re: Ramsey Rumor Thread
ESPN's Clayton Wed. 3/15
With the Redskins stalled in trade talks with the Jets over quarterback Patrick Ramsey, they have given Ramsey permission to visit the Bucs. Ramsey lost two teams interested in him Tuesday when the Lions signed Jon Kitna and the Dolphins traded for Daunte Culpepper. The Bucs are looking to replace Brian Griese and are considering Ramsey if the trade price is right. The Redskins are asking for a fourth-round pick. The Jets offered a seventh. With most of their moves done in free agency, the Redskins have invested most of their time trying to find a team interested in giving them value for Ramsey. |

Re: Ramsey Rumor Thread
Gibbs should hold onto Ramsey and trade him during the draft. Teams may warm up to a deal and offer more then.
