It would be awesome if Wagner becomes a coach for us next year, although I would be surprised if that happens. Wagner is apparently a successful businessman outside football as he is angel investor and is involved in some businesses, I won't be surprise if he dives into the entrepreneur/business world when he retires.

Re: We Suck - 2026 NFL Mock Draft Thread

Run a few mocks and I'm not convinced trading down from the 1st is necessarily a good move. More picks is one thing, but they need to be the right picks. If a top Edge, DB or WR is there when we pick, we have to seriously consider it. A difference maker may well be better than 2 or 3 guys that end up being just depth pieces.

In other words, can we use our (likely) high draft pick to get back to the position where we get more picks to help build greater depth?
The league is structured so teams can turn it around rather quickly…and having a solid QB as we do makes it even a stronger possibility. The season is a disappointment, but a reality check as well. Need a better strategy in team building. It’s good for AP, let’s him know we aren’t as close…can’t make knee jerk decisions like a Lattimore. Old and slow…need speed and youth.

Lattimore wasn’t knee jerk, we were a legit contender and you take your shot when it’s there. It didn’t work out but I don’t fault being aggressive there.

I'm almost in the same camp, you take a shot. But his recent injury history would have scared me off (or certainly reduced my offer). I guess it depends what conversations he had with other teams looking for a CB trade. Were NO the only ones willing to talk?

You need something of a mix. Vet presence for leadership etc. but not too many that you're vested in older guys and you have no youth depth. Last year felt more balanced, this year feels we leant too much on vets that were not going to improve (or were going to go downhill). We need more youth and probably have another year of growing pains to go with it unless AP works miracles in the draft and FA. After the Snyder years, I can live with having to find our way a little. But if he blows this offseason...

Re: We Suck - 2026 NFL Mock Draft Thread

We traded for Lattimore for 24, thinking he’d help us in that playoff run. Never should have happen. Think the trade happened around our 3 game losing streak.

We should have waited until the offseason for trading for a CB.

AP blew it, thinking we were a player or two away.

None of those vets should’ve have returned. You get year 1, trying to establish your culture.

Year 2, you replace those vets with youth and sped. We didn’t do that. Now we have to do that and basically wasted a year.

Both men are on the hot seat for 26.

AP has to revamp the roster with youth and speed and actually address our weaknesses, instead of trying to get by with a short term fix. If we don’t have a significantly better team in 26; Josh will have to take a serious look at whether AP is the guy.

For DQ, at minimum he needs to finish 9-8. Frankly, if the offense can run like it did in 24; we should be contending for as least a wild card. 8-9 or worse in year 3; is unacceptable.

We aren’t going to fix all our problems in one year but we should be able to bounce back with another wild card berth. Going take 2, maybe 3 offseasons to have that Super Bowl contender.

Re: We Suck - 2026 NFL Mock Draft Thread

The absolute biggest problem on defense is trying to find out who we are first and then trying to get players who fit the vision.

This past week we played a ton of zone, Whitt had as more man most of the year. That affects the technique the Dline plays. It affects our LBs responsibility. Guess what, our defense did play better.

Please this offseason find a competent defensive coordinator and find some ballers who can fit what we do.

Well, in the vein of "we didn't used to suck," Joe Jacoby was just picked as a HOF semifinalist. He really and truly deserves to be enshrined -- it's a crime it hasn't happened already. 13 seasons, 3 Superbowls, and 2 All Pro seasons and 4 pro bowl seasons. Come the F on already! Oh, and LT said he was the hardest OL he ever went up against.

He was the epitome of the Hogs. Fucking embarrassing by anyone who has a vote that he’s not in.

For those too young to remember, trust me when I tell you that there was no nastier, hard-nosed OL than Jacoby. He was huge and strangely fast -- he played every OL position but C at various points, and they used to pull him all the way across the OL as a T. He was undrafted, but was just a mauler his entire career, and when he got out in front on run blocking, he wanted to bury guys into next week. He routinely played hurt (once with multiple broken bones in his hand), and it never showed.

Let me put it this way: his former defensive foes Lawrence Taylor, Chris Doleman and Charles Haley ALL have said Jacoby deserves to be in the HOF.

Maybe Payne and I'd consider Luvu (mainly because Whitt hasn't got a clue how to use him), even Deebo (though I prefer not), but who else is going to generate interest but be expendable without undermining next years roster and team confidence? Yes we need picks, but we're not getting 7-10 worthwhile picks without trading away key assets and I can't see Peters doing that. We need a good draft next year, but probably more importantly we need a meaningful FA haul and not another OOTH gang. Hopefully AP has learned his lesson there.
Yep, good sense.

The jury is out on whether "Dairy Quinn" is a legit coach in the NFL, IMO. I do want to slap that backwards cap off of his head...
