Wow ... was not expecting it now.

Im guessing Haskins could only throw half of Turner's playbook (slants/crosses/screens) and our offense was being limited by Haskins not being able to see and throw the next level passes.

There has to be more to it.

Welp ... this Sunday just got a bit more interesting.

Lowest % of accurate passes this season:

30. Dwayne Haskins: 50.4% (benched)
31. Mitchell Trubisky: 46.2% (benched)
32. Carson Wentz: 42.8%

I just get the feeling the guy’s not a leader. I mean he hasn’t outwardly shown that as far as I can tell. But he just doesn’t seem like a dude who inspires his team or takes instruction well

This.

We're on the outside looking in. Ron and his coaches see him every day. They know better than anyone if he's putting in the work to get better.

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter

If we win Sunday and Allen plays well, I will say RR is a genius

More proof that RR is totally in charge.

As much as I was giving DH the benefit of the doubt, I really didn't like his whole "I wasn't staring at receivers" response when he clearly was.

Too bad he didn't work out. Oh well.

Wish the team hadn’t voted him captain. He wasn’t ready for that either. I wonder whether they’ll continue to try to develop him or whether this represents moving on for good.

This.

I kept defending him even when he was making dumb statements like that.

Ron is obviously putting the needs of the team as priority #1 right now.

Hope the timing doesn't affect our ability to get a long term starter next year.

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter

I'm actually surprised. Ron's been in an evaluation/rebuild mode ald I thought he'd take the entire season to see if Haskins is the future.

I guess he's made his decision already.

It's a complete cleanout of the previous regime, as it should be. It was never going to be a quick, or pretty process, but I am trusting Rivera has a long-term plan that will hopefully result in success.

A few MLB teams have gone through the multi-year destroy and rebuild plan with success: Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox (in year 3 of plan and seeing results now). While we do not have minor leagues to build up, we'll have to rely on draft picks.

Year 1 draft results by Coach Ron have looked like a success with Chase Young, Antonio Gibson immediately being productive, with late-round picks Cameron Kurl and James Smith-Williams contributing. If Charles and Gandy-Golden get rolling, great draft overall.

Who knows, maybe this is a quick kick in the butt for Haskins to wake him up and make him feel expendable if he doesn't fix things.

It's also possible Ron is looking at this division and thinking he can actually win it in a year he hadn't planned on contending in. We CAN win it.

After everything we've heard from Haskins, I don't think he has the mentality to buckle down and work his ass off to get the job back.

I think he's done here. Just hope we can get something for him.
