Ryan Kerrigan Appreciation thread.
HUGE Milestone today for RK, he is now the franchises all time sacks leader.
Congrats to him, I've been hard on RK every yr but this is legit.

Congrats Ryan!
He is a great player and a good guy! Ryan Kerrigan is one of my wife's favorite players and he was one my mom's favorite players when she was alive! My mother would be proud! Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk

Re: Ryan Kerrigan Appreciation thread.
92 sacks, never hurt, good dude, never any off the field or on the field issues and yet I cant label him great. Am I on an island here?

Re: Ryan Kerrigan Appreciation thread.
This thread is well deserved, RK deserves more recognition. In the history of this franchise (honestly Manley would probably have the title if they started counting sacks earlier) nobody has recorded more sacks. As dependable as they come and a great mentor to the young guys on how to take care of yourself. Congrats RK.

Re: Ryan Kerrigan Appreciation thread.
Whenever I watch the movie Rudy, and see Sean Astin get in the face of the huge O-Lineman who took it easy on him one play saying "CMon man! Hit me! I'm the defensive end for Purdue!" ... I think of Ryan Kerrigan.
His years at Purdue probably prepared him for his years on the Skins ... 8 - 5 his freshmen year was the best the Boilers did. 4 - 8, 5 - 7, 4 - 8 were the subsequent records. As a Skin .... 2011 - 5 - 11 2012 - 10 - 6 2013 - 3 - 13 2014 - 4 - 12 2015 - 9 - 7 2016 - 8 - 7 - 1 2017 - 7 - 9 2018 - 7 - 9 2019 - 3 - 13 But I never heard him complain about his teammates. And their lack of success. Always seemed to "pack his lunch pail" and just go to work. I hope like hell, this is a season he can enjoy, and excel in. And the team can experience some success. If anyone deserves it, Ryan Kerrigan does. |

Re: Ryan Kerrigan Appreciation thread.
Well deserved thread (not that he's giving one single F but ^^).
I have to say, for someone who would have not been opposed to trading him (depth at the position, get value while you can) and have been, not critical, but at times saying he was playing just-good-not-elite... I have to say it's exciting to see him play that well. Got me back to his early days in DC, happy for him, happy for this team. You can see the difference a good coaching staff makes. He's fired up and looks to be a good leader/mentor of this impressive DL squad.

Re: Ryan Kerrigan Appreciation thread.
What's been said before; what a difference a new environment makes.
I remember his first game and from the highlights it looked like the old RK again. Think RR realised what he has in a guy who bleeds B&G and kept him around for his vet smarts and leadership ability. Deserves the record and hope he keeps extending it. |

Re: Ryan Kerrigan Appreciation thread.
It's hard to find players who are such consistent performers, let alone find players who are always available to play. Kerrigan does everything right. Takes care of his body, works hard, studies, stays out of trouble, plays through pain, takes steps to recover from bumps and bruises. He will not be a hall of famer, but his value is still immense, and definitely will deserve a spot in the WFT Ring of Fame when it's all said and done.

I was always on board with keeping Kerrigan. I thought in a scaled back role he could be very effective.

Re: Ryan Kerrigan Appreciation thread.
It's amazing how much you benefit from fresh legs. We were getting worked in that first quarter, the offense went three & out on that first drive and it put the defense on the field an awful lot there in the first quarter. I was concerned they'd be gassed and the floodgates would open.
The fact that you can bring a fresh Kerrigan and Ioannidis off the bench when your defense is a little gassed, it means the world. The entire line was fresh enough to pin the ears back in the 4th quarter, and it's because the depth was there to just keep rotating.

Re: Ryan Kerrigan Appreciation thread.
He's been my favorite current Redskin since his first game when he scored that TD off Eli Manning.
My son is wearing his Kerrigan jersey to school today. His favorite player too. In a part-time role with this defense, Kerrigan may be more dangerous than as a full-time starter getting double-teamed. Chase needs to be double-teamed, they can't dedicate two men on Ryan any more. He would have had 3 sacks yesterday if he wasn't going for his famous tip the ball to himself for a pick-6 move. He was all alone in front of Wentz and jumped at least three times to try to get that play. ![]()
