Re: Alex Smith’s Amazing Comeback(?)
Lake Lewis was saying due to no pre season they wanted to put him on the PUP list

Re: Alex Smith’s Amazing Comeback(?)
Not necessarily, the local reporters, Keim and Findley, mentioned that if the player does not start camp on the PUP list then he cannot then be moved onto it at a later date, so starting him on the PUP list is just keeping their options open in case he can't quite make it yet during training camp

Re: Alex Smith’s Amazing Comeback(?)
Per Ron Rivera both Alex Smith and Rueben Foster failed their physicals.

Re: Alex Smith’s Amazing Comeback(?)
I wasn't counting on Foster this year, or ever.
Shame, he could be a big contributor on D, he has/had talent.

If healthy Smith in mix at QB. Is Alex considered high risk do to fighting a serious infection and almost losing his leg?

Re: Alex Smith’s Amazing Comeback(?)
Alex Smith’s comeback is a great story, but I would be just amazed if he ever sees the field again. The guy almost died from this injury and is over 35 years old. I think Dan Snyder needs a friend a lot more than the WFT needs an old QB.

Re: Alex Smith’s Amazing Comeback(?)
Alex Smith should do himself a favor and retire. I am not saying this to be mean or that he isn't a good qb. I am just thinking from a health point of view. If he took a low shot to that leg again I don't know how well it would hold him. The risk is too great - but that is his choice to make...

Re: Alex Smith’s Amazing Comeback(?)
I heard JP make a good point today...what have the Skins done since the AS injury? Invested a no 1 pick in Haskins as well as a 5 th round pick at QB. He’s right.
Both calculated moves...both young guys who have shown serious flashes to build upon. The org is stalling if AS plays...he was borderline terrible when he was healthy. AS, get off the field

Re: Alex Smith’s Amazing Comeback(?)
I can't imagine the team would want to take on the responsibility of putting him on the field again. Think about what a disaster it would be if he got seriously hurt again. If he's serious about playing again it can't be here. Trade him if need be.

Re: Alex Smith’s Amazing Comeback(?)
Exactly. If he played and got hurt “the redskins being the redskins again...they put Haskins in danger play him too early last year and now they played a QB who damn near lost his leg”.....this is not the right spot of AS if he wants to continue his playing career. He’s a strong back up somewhere else

Re: Alex Smith’s Amazing Comeback(?)
So in strict financial terms, it's a WIN-WIN for both sides if he just stays on the roster until the end of his contract. He gets paid, the team doesn't get screwed on the cap hit.
