Can't wait for this team to ruin my Thanksgiving.

Re: Post Dumpster Fire...er Skins vs. Saints Thread
I remember hearing before the season that Alex Smith's best seasons were after he'd been with a team for 4-5 years and it could take time for him to get on the same page as his receivers. Maybe that's what we're seeing. Could be things get better this year. Could be they don't. Could be they draft a QB to groom behind him for a couple years after this season. All I know for sure is that was the worst game of quarterbacking I've seen on this team in many years. Maybe some of the rhythm he developed with the WRs late will carry over to next week. If the rest of the NFC East weren't so bad, I'd have seen enough of this team to stop paying attention so closely this season. The D is ok, but not good enough yet to carry a team with a one dimensional offense. We could still win the division, but wild card is not likely and no chance we'd get past first round anyway.

60% of the time a Gruden led team plays like pussies under the bright lights every time. What the fuck did Gruden and Manusky do during the bye week? Play tiddlywinks?

Jay Gruden: “the team played poorly. That’s a reflection of myself.”
The Redskins played one of their worst all-around games in the Jay Gruden era in losing to the Saints. They couldn't run the ball; they blew too many coverages and committed bad penalties in the first half. Quarterback Alex Smith was not good and his protection was bad, too. The Redskins at 2-2 still have plenty of time left, but they must provide more proof that they can become a good team.

Can't get above 8 and 8 if you can't win 2 in a row. Gruden just can't get this team ready to play on a week to week basis. So damn frustrating.

Post Dumpster Fire...er Skins vs. Saints Thread
Negatives:
Our Head Coach in a huge way. Completely out of his league. Our offense. Our defense. Our Front Office. Our Stadium. Our Past. Our Present. Our Future. Our quarterback. Positives: Usually I can find some sort of silver lining once the dust settles after a loss. I cannot though. Allen n Payne should be good for years? We will fuck that up somehow somewhere down the road. I mean the Saints squeaked out victories over the Browns and Falcons. I know i know the Browns are not that bad. Lol. The Giants played them harder than us too. This Saints team is good but we made them look like the team of the decade. It is painfully obvious that our HC and his entire staff need to go next year. That is not a knee jerk reaction- we have all known Jay is out of his league for quite some time. Josh Norman gtfo of town. He might be the most overrated player in all of sports. AP? The guy is on the verge of retirement. Our o line is not good. At all. There is absolutely nothing to hang our hat on except a couple of d linemen and Scherff. Three players. Lol. I still don't understand why they have Norman all that dough. They don't want to pay a good QB but you pay a corner who can't cover fast wr's. Even after Haynesworth we still fuck up in free agency.

The All-22 film is here:
https://youtu.be/8n3ZzWKXaU4?t=1m30s I imagine the conversation at Redskins Park will be something like: Asst' coaches: Hey Jay, let's start watching the tape. Jay: Burn the tape. Let us never speak of yesterday again. |

I think this game lies somewhere between terrible preparations and shitty luck. We all talk about being cursed....and I’m starting to believe it, especially in big games.

Want to be really depressed? Let’s take a look at team needs.
HC/staff GM Quarterback RB WR TE Interior o line Edge rusher Linebacker Safely Corner I challenge anyone to debate any of those areas of need, and a handful of them are plural. Add depth. Wow. There are not many teams in the league right now that are that far away from winning. Oh Trent is not getting any younger. Lol. |

In the post-game press conference Gruden is up there saying we need to make sure we get our quarterback into plays he's comfortable with. For me, that translates directly to: we're finding out that our QB isn't comfortable with as much as our old one was. Not a good sign at all. Bruce Allen should be canned now so a new GM can get in and get organized ahead of the draft.

Re: Post Dumpster Fire...er Skins vs. Saints Thread
That was a typical Redskins MNF game folks, it should be no surprise to anyone here, yes that TD record breaker was staged, I'm sorry but dude was running WIDE open against a defense that has been very good all season, Montae didn't even attempt to tackle, the Brees love was in full effect all week , I had friends text me saying "Rigged" that aren't even skins fans.
Jay Gruden needs to go plain and simple, I said it after last yr but wanted to give him 1 more shot... He's the same with Kirk and Alex, dude cant draw up plays to score in the RZ at all on a consistent basis. Josh Norman's prime is over, he's still a good CB but he's not that guy anymore. No need to get rid of him since we have Dunbar to be the #1. WRs suck, PR is flashy but a one trick pony.. Crowder is a #3 at best as we all knew anyway.. It's time to bring in Dez Bryant folks, stop bitching about the guy and realize we need him. He's not great anymore but he's better than what we have. Overall last night proved we are still a bottom tier AVG at best team.. Nothing has changed or will change until BA, and Jay are fired.
