The weather is still great here right now. Not supposed to hit until Sunday night or Monday. I'm in shorts and tank top right now.

Stadium is pretty sweet. The brick in right field looks way more cool live than on tv. Battery Park is neat. Played brer pong for 1st time in years.

Great move with Thompson. I've seen enough - do the same with Zach Brown before he reaches free agency after the season.

Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension

I realize he's not a "Big Back," but is there any reason that Thompson can't be a three down back? I really believe he is the best RB we have on the roster. Historically, there have been lots of successful every down RB's who were, size-wise, comparable to Thompson:

Thompson is listed at 5' 8", 195 lbs

Walter Payton: 5-10, 200lb
Barry Sanders: 5-8, 203
Thurman Thomas: 5-10, 200lb
Tiki Barber: 5-10, 200lb
James Brooks: 5-8, 180lb
Clinton Portis: 5-11, 205lb

Not suggesting he is a HOF'er in the making, just thinking he would be more of a threat than RK or Perrine.

Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension

Given his injury history I think it's wise to not overuse him.

I really like the Perrine Thompson tandem. Especially if our staff starts going run first.

I typically agree with this but we are a borderline playoff team that needs to maximize big play opportunities. Since he is our only game breaker, we need to run him into the ground and see where things end up.

It's next man up if he does get hurt.

In critical games/situations I agree, but it's a long season. I think 10-15 touches a game is perfect for him.

I agree with this. It seems like we don't really remember early on in his career when he was getting nicked up a lot. I'd rather he keep maximizing his opportunities than run him into the ground and go next man up. Next man up doesn't always work with this team.

To be fair with that when we drafted him he was already hurt/recovering from injuries. In the last couple of years he hasn't had any major injuries.

I would be for giving him 100 to 125 carries a season he already had 50 catches last season

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Carries/catches are just a term to me, if he got 125 touches a season I'd be fine with it. He's equally talented receiving out of the backfield as he is running the ball.
