Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News

I actually have a high opinion of Foerster and I think most around the league still do, but it's a matter of fit. Gruden clearly wants to run more of what they had in Cincy - power and gap running. Foerster is a zone guy. Just doesn't fit.

Isnt Fangio something you order after you have baked Ziti and sangria?

Yeah Callahan and Foerster are both fine coaches in their own right. Callahan just makes more sense for where we want to go.

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News

I am VERY glad Fangio is interviewing....mainly because he isnt Barry or Morris.
He sure looks good as a 49ers DC with all that talent...but he didn't do so hot elsewhere.
Not sure his is AMAZING or anything...but I am sure he is better than Haz-not.

Is Vic Fangio really considered the top DC?
What about Wade Phillips or Dick LeBeau or Jim Schwartz?
Who of the 4 is actually the best statistically?

I will be happy with any...but I'd prefer the best of the group...and I don't care if they need a hover-round on game day!

Most coaches do look pretty good when they have talent to work with.

Yeah, it's hard to say whether Fangio made Willis or Willis made Fangio.

I wish we'd call LeBeau. If we can hire a GM with life problems, we can hire a HoF old timer.

I remember having this debate a while back, so...

Told #Redskins have wanted to hire a QB coach for a while. Offensive staff a little overwhelmed last season. Been a priority since December

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News

They need to hire a very experienced QB coach who has been successful in the NFL - a true mentor who will command the respect of his pupils (Don't anybody say Zorn; I know how you wiseacres think!). This is a critically important hire, IMO.

Jay Gruden needs as many self-starters who have "seen it all" as he can get on his staff so he can point them at a problem and expect it to get fixed. I say that because I think Jay bit off more than he could chew last season and he needs some wise heads to relieve his burden and advise him while he develops as an NFL HC. This ain't the UFL, Jay!

I believe in hiring people to work for you who are smarter than you are. It makes you more successful, eases your workload, and reduces stress.

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News

I would ask Tavita Pritchard, Stanford's QB coach. At Stanford they use virtual reality system to allow back up qb's to run through scenarios and make reads. I would like to see the Skins to be the first to use it in the NFL.
